Supporters say the retractable roof would have prevented several hundred parents, grandparents, and siblings from being slow-roasted during graduation ceremonies.

Critics estimate the project could increase Tiger football tickets from $5 to approximately the value of a new pickup truck.

The stadium would reportedly feature:

I have heard growing concerns from Kaufman County homeowners about Housing Choice Voucher placement trends, increasing institutional investor ownership, and the potential impact of federal housing policies on neighborhood stability.

As your congressman, it's my job to ensure these policies are carried out transparently and in a way that supports both homeowners and renters.

That’s why I sent a letter today to the Dallas Housing Authority requesting answers and greater transparency regarding housing placement trends and neighborhood concentration concerns in Kaufman County.

Growth should strengthen our communities, not place unnecessary strain on neighborhoods, infrastructure, or quality of life. I’ll continue fighting to protect the values that make Kaufman County and our rural communities great places to live, raise a family, and build a future.

$28 million dollar project coming to Terrell ISD

A major construction project is coming to Terrell ISD as plans move forward for additions and renovations at Furlough Middle School. The project, identified as TABS Project No. 2026021578, is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026, with completion anticipated by June 1, 2028.

Located at 1351 Colquitt Road in Terrell, the nearly $28.4 million project will include new classroom additions, expanded gymnasium facilities, fine arts and cafeteria additions, as well as interior renovations to existing portions of the campus. The project will also feature courtyard and site improvements designed to enhance the overall learning environment for students and staff.

Funded through public resources, the project represents a significant investment in Terrell ISD's educational infrastructure and is intended to support future growth while modernizing and expanding campus facilities to better serve the community.
