It's National School Bus Safety Week!
Here's a few safety reminders for you...
Speaking for our entire Transportation Staff...We truly miss all of our students more than we could ever express. Our Bus Drivers & Attendants are just as broken-hearted as the teachers are about not getting to say goodbye! We will miss that final fair well and that one last hug. While we may not be afforded that chance this May we are hopeful as we look to the future. We love our students and treasure the opportunity and the trust that’s placed within us all to serve as a key component of their educational day.
We will think of you and pray for you all until we see you again next fall.
February is Love the Bus month! I hope you all take a moment of your day to thank a school bus driver for always going the extra mile : )
Good Morning TISD Moms & Dads if your student has been registered for a bus you can access their routing information in their Skyward account. This is the same place you view their grades etc...
If your a Temple resident or just traveling through please avoid I35 Saturday night through Sunday afternoon as it will be closed in both directions from Exit 300 through 302. The most convenient way around the detour if your traveling Southbound will be to Exit 304 and use the North loop. If you're traveling Northbound take Exit 298 to utilize the North Loop.
There has been an increase in traffic complaints about the illegal use of cell phone in school zones. The traffic unit will be focusing their attention the remainder week on cell phone violations and speeding violations within the school zones. The safety of our children is of the upmost importance and we want to prevent any accidents involving children.
Due to construction, our phones and internet are down at the Transportation Department. All buses will run as normal this afternoon. If you have any Transportation Department questions, please call the Central Administrative Offices at 254-215-8473.
Make sure those back packs have wide straps and weigh no more that 15% of the body weight. Both straps should be used at all times to help prevent back pain and added compression to the spine. Happy back to school!

It's National School Bus Safety Week!
Here's a few safety reminders for you...
We wanted to take a minute to express our sincere appreciation to the Wildcat Nation. Today you demonstrated a great deal of patience and understanding as we ironed out the wrinkles that the new school year brings.
This morning we had more than 2000 students uploaded into our system. We worked as diligently & quickly as we could to ensure every student was routed however, by day's end there are those whom we could not get to. We will continue tomorrow to work through as many as we can which will be our priority until every student who needs a bus has one.
Each day will bring huge improvements to our stop times as students become more familiar with their bus stops and drivers become more familiar with their students. Again we appreciate our families!!! The Wildcat Nation is truly remarkable!
**All busses have dropped off students and returned to the Temple ISD Transportation Dept.** - 5:59 pm
As campuses, students and bus drivers get used to new routes, some busses are running an hour + late this afternoon.
Thank you for your patience as we ensure all students are dropped off at the right stop.
As always, our busses will run on-time as the week progresses.
I'm sure you've seen our buses out and about this week as our drivers have been practicing their routes. Monday each driver will be running their routes by the scheduled times so be looking for your bus 💙
Student routing information will be available beginning Friday August 12th. Please contact your child's campus anytime after that date for information regarding your child's bus route.
Also please remember that if your student needs busing to a childcare facility after school you must submit an exception request. Exceptions are required annually.
TISD only provides busing to approved childcare facilities that fall within your students attendance zone.
With heavy rain and wet roads, Temple ISD buses may run late this afternoon.
We are still releasing school at the normal time, however safety comes first, so it may take buses a little longer to drop off your child.
