Because Kase Nelson was one of 15 Postcard Contest Winners (out of over 1,000) he was given special treatment. A pizza party for his class, swag, presentation from AHS Dr. Kristen Rex, and a lot of attention!
These talented young artists were selected for their outstanding creativity and thoughtful designs celebrating Arizona's history and the 5 C's.
Prizes include:
- A hosted Pizza Party (courtesy of the Historical League)
- A swag bag filled with art supplies and Arizona Historical Society goodies
- Their winning design is professionally printed on postcards available for purchase at any Arizona Historical Society Museum.

Very excited Rose Marina Houser shows off her artwork illustrating the 5 C's of Arizona from the Arizona Historical Society 3rd grade postcard contest. Her drawing was one of 15 selected out of over 1,000 entries around the state. With family helping out at the pizza party held in her honor, she had quite a day.

Third grade postcard contest winner Noah Jackson celebrates with his parents and teacher. 15 students were selected out of over 1,000 entries around the state. Congrats Noah!! His class enjoyed a pizza party and he won lots of swag from AHS. Students were asked to create a postcard to show what they had learned about Arizona (5 C’s of Arizona, 22 tribes of Arizona, History, Geography from prehistoric times to now).

Jaelynn TigerLily Harris gives a thumbs up on her special day. Her artwork was chosen from over 1,000 third grade entries around the state. Only 15 students received this honor. Teacher April Foster received lessons from AHS Dr. Kristen Rex, developed to teach students about the use of postcards during the time of Arizona’s Statehood. These talented young artists were selected for their outstanding creativity and thoughtful designs celebrating Arizona's history and the 5 C's.
