Our homestead's tallest tree is home to barn owls, and they've been leaving us some interesting "gifts."

Today, our students dove into the world of barn owls, dissecting some of these pellets! We used an amazing lesson plan from Easy Fun Science on , which even helped us identify the bone species inside. πŸ¦‰πŸ¦΄πŸ”¬

Mother's Day was a little different this year!

The children recently picked up Beyblading with their father, and we spent Mother's Day at their first tournament. The Beyblade community is so passionate and welcoming. There were young bladers, old bladers, and everyone in between.

The tournament led to lessons and conversations surrounding humility, sportsmanship, and disappointment, as only one of them made it out of the initial rounds. But even the adults were impressed by their launches, so I'll still call it a success, and the kids are looking forward to their next tournament.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman pouring her heart into her family. Today, we celebrate the love, patience, and grit that keeps the world spinning.

A huge shout-out to the going the extra mile. πŸ“šβœ¨

We see the incredible work you do:
✨️ Rejecting "one size fits all" so your kids can succeed on their own terms.
✨️ Turning every moment into a lesson and every spark into a flame.
✨️ Balancing the roles of teacher, mentor, and Mom with grace.

Thank you for your courage to do things differently and for protecting your children’s unique potential. You aren't just teaching; you’re building a future.

No hamstrings were pulled this Easter🐀🐰, and we all had so much fun. πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

The kids wanted to do it again, but we were all too winded πŸ₯΅ Maybe next year πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Zora was the last one standing and went home with a giant egg full of candy

We let our big boy Ham go to a new farm today because we couldn't manage him any more. We definitely bit off more than we could chew when we got our pigs, but I honestly wouldn't change it. They have taught us so much about homesteading, so it was bittersweet to see Ham go.

He will be missed in

No goats were harmed in the making of this video. 🐐🎬 I had to wait for my husband to help me and couldn't resist getting this video. 🀣

Dry leaves are his favorite, and he was willing to risk it all for them. πŸ‚ πŸ˜‚

Say hello to the newest members of our homestead family: Lucky Billy Goat, Ricky Bobby, and Blanca!

Our kids (pun intended) are absolutely thrilled, and while the chicks might be feeling a little overshadowed, rest assured they're still getting all the love and attention they deserve. πŸπŸπŸ”πŸ’–
