Nothing beats summer in California and celebrating the Fourth of July with the people you love. ❤️🤍💙

We’re headed to the beach for our annual Fourth of July tradition, but there’s nothing like starting the day at home on the ranch.

Barefoot kids, dusty boots, an American flag waving in the breeze, animals roaming the property, and the people I love most all in one place. These are the moments that remind me just how grateful I am for this life.

Wishing everyone a weekend filled with family, laughter, freedom, sunshine, and memories. 🇺🇸

There was a time when I was terrified of in-home sessions and working with the light—or lack of light, I should say. I used to schedule only morning sessions to guarantee enough natural light.

Fast forward four years, and here we are shooting golden hour inside a home. Honestly, I think I prefer it now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Finding those little pockets of light. Capturing families in their raw, everyday moments. The real life. No perfectly coordinated outfits. Homeschool lessons, outside play, Bible study time, messy kitchens, and all the moments you’ll look back on and remember exactly how they felt.

Not every photoshoot is meant for a Christmas card. Some are simply meant to preserve a season of life you’ll never get back.

I was so excited when my friend Kaitlyn Holt 📸 Southern California ☀️ asked me to come document these moments for her. The moments she’s cherishing so deeply right now, but may be too busy living to capture herself.

It was such a joy spending the evening with the Holts and documenting their beautiful family 💕

Date night at .coffee 💕☕️

I love capturing moments that leave an imprint on your heart. The places you spend the most time, the little things that tell your story, and the memories you’ll look back on and remember exactly how they felt. Those will always be my favorite.

When I first started capturing families, I had such a deep passion for photography. I loved storytelling and capturing all the small, intimate details. I would rush home after sessions, so excited to start editing. I’d stay up all night smiling at my computer, learning new techniques and quickly sending off sneak peeks because I couldn’t wait for my clients to see their memories.
Somewhere along the way, I lost that passion. Burnout is so real, and for me, it came on quickly. I found myself capturing the same locations over and over, shifting from storytelling to more posed photos because that’s what my clients were asking for or maybe what they felt most comfortable with.
But over the last several weeks, something has changed. I’ve started capturing moments the way I truly see them as an artist again. I have this renewed desire to edit with intention and document real, authentic connection. During my last few sessions, I’ve felt that spark again, the same feeling I had when I first started.
There’s been a shift in my work, but even more, a shift in my heart. I’m falling back in love with photography, and I want that to shine through in my work.
So, you could say there’s a style shift happening… moving away from perfection and leaning fully into intention.

My sister and her beautiful family. She is the best mom I know and I loved documenting her special moments. Their morning routine, homeschooling, and just loving on each other. So grateful she let me capture them ❤️

I’m falling in love with in-home sessions and the families who allow me to document their raw, personal stories. It’s always such an honor. 🤍
