Explorers of the Deep 4-H STEM Challenge
Please join us January 28, 2023 for the Explorers of the Deep 4-H STEM Challenge. This hands-on workshop will be virtual and take place on Saturday at 10am. Designed by Rutgers University, Explorers of the Deep, focuses on the mysteries and adventures of ocean exploration with robots! Young people learn how to use science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to explore Earth's Ocean and how it relates to all life on the planet. Youth will learn about the incredibly complex relationship between Earth's oceans and the global climate. Explorers of the Deep consists of three activities that can be done all at once or individually, making it highly adaptable for classrooms, afterschool programs or clubs. This event is open to Novice through Seniors. If registering a novice aged youth they will need either adult support or the support of a junior/senior aged youth. Registration can be found at https://tinyurl.com/NMSTEMchallenge and be completed by January 18. The STEM kits are included with registration and must be picked up from your County Extension office between January 23-January 26. Each kit has materials for 1-4 youth to participate in the activities. Kits are limited. For questions, please contact Dr. Peter Skelton, Youth Agriscience Education Specialist, at [email protected].
