Pro tip: When you need to inject a refrigerated med on the fly. You can use your body heat to help bring it to room temp. I wrap my sealed injector in a towel and place safely inside my bra and go about my business. Wait about five minutes, flip sides. Et voila, a nonchilly med that is all ready to use.
There was joy. There was fear. There were feet shots and Birkenstocks. And there was nervous laughter.

Life is funny.
We’ve known each other since working at the same restaurant. I was a junior in college and she was a senior in high school. I came home after a bad breakup and wanted to focus on saving money so I didn’t have to work senior year and could do internships in New Jersey.
I didn’t want new friends.
She forced me to be her friend, anyway.
Many moves, 2 marriages (1 each), 3 kiddos (her 2; me 1), and 2 IBD diagnoses between us (me and god son)… we’ve been through some 💩. BUT now we also have 🏰 🎢 🎆 to share with our little and not so little anymore.
Disney just hits different when you get to see your kids walk through Disney together. Or seeing ride pics from the new Toy Story ride with bestie looking relaxed and my husband being a sniper.
I’m not sure what the odds are that both me and my bestie’s kiddo have the same immune mediated conditions? But we’ve just taken it as a sign - meant to be.
It was a nice little vacation before the summer heat sizzles Orlando completely. On our last day it hit 96°F and I was internally burnt toast by mid-day. My insides still feel like they are cooking.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to find a tub filled with ice to jump into.

Holy Shnikes, on May 4 just hits different. Leave it to me to plan this last minute vacay on 5/4 and not realize we were heading into Nerd Prom. My husband was in his glory. Kiddo was stoked to people watch.
I really didn’t think we would find parking let alone get into the park. I spent half the day prepping kiddo we may have to go elsewhere. But we made it in.
The cosplay 100/10
The vibe from attendees 100/10 (that’s saying a lot as it was super hot during parts of the day)
Cast members being extra magical today 900/10 (everyone’s struggling lately, I get it)
Ability to navigate on-planet as a disabled person was a little hairy. Everyone was doing the best they could with the limited space there was. Events like today, I wouldn’t be able to manage solo or as a solo parent.
Toward the end of daylight as crowd swelled and entrance was limited, I couldn’t see it being easy for someone in a wheel chair or mobility device to navigate easily. I’m sure in the midst of that crowded picture in the carousel there’s a few.
Nevertheless, huge shoutout to Hollywood Studios for having amazing (from a POV) clean and cold bathrooms on-planet around the Star Wars corridor. In all my years of visiting, I’ve never had to venture in one, let alone two, until today. First world problems. Pleasant surprise!

Big day today.
We did not fight over eating. Cereal, a croissant, fruit - the safe foods were in rotation.
When hunger came on, a grain bar out of rotation for over a year (no longer considered her safe food) was offered and eaten.
We blinked and internally sighed with relief.
Later, popcorn was requested. New to her. Scary to us with the choking risk. But we shove that fear down and encourage doing the scary things.
Bonus… she piloted and didn’t do too shabby. She’s jumped out of the ride 5 times. Successfully ridden two times so far.
Couple months back we were at and heard a little snort grunt and knocking noise. A tiny crowd formed. We all looked around for a Disney adult. But I guess we were? So we blocked the kiddos from seeing because no one has time to explain the 🦢 and 🐝 and 🐢 - while at Disney - to a 4-year-old. Midway through, listen in and you’ll hear what we heard. 🤣

Just the Specialty Pharmacy trying to keep me on my aching swollen arthritic toes. The box arrived and felt significantly lighter. I decided to film in case the box was missing med.
Intrusive thoughts have been rough these past couple of months. Anywho, found my Stelara all the way at the bottom of the cooler with the two ice packs having been piled on top.
Usually, they stack it with two of these very large hard to thaw packs for the bottom and top and two smaller packs get inserted on the left and right, and the packing paper or recyclable peanuts are in between. This time I got the two bricks directly on top of the box holding my injectable. To which I rant, “WHO PACKS IT LIKE THIS?!”
