The Trip-pop/post rock solo project of Katie McCrimmon While writing music, I began experimenting with transposing rock songs to contemporary piano ballads.
My full name is Sarah Katie McCrimmon, and I have been a musician for most of my life, playing piano since the age of 5 and touring since 2014. I began cultivating my piano skills by writing my own solo music during highschool and released a few home recorded demos under the stage name "Nienna". Hello world! Got some time to work on music today. I’m anticipating hitting the studio this spring and working on a new EP to release this summer! But since I was on such a listening binge lately, I wanted to do a quick jam cover of one of my favorite songs “Are Friends Electric?”
https://youtu.be/ap8BkPZcX-E?si=yRxzgZucEnPW5f3f Growing up in the 90’s, I watched “The Secret Garden” and was absolutely mesmerized with the music, the story, and the beauty of nature. Without realizing it, the composer Zbigniew Preisner, who wrote the original motion picture soundtrack, shaped my composition style. Re-watching this movie as an adult gave me that profound realization and motivated me to learn one of the most memorable melody lines from the movie.
I do not own this music, I am merely playing my own interpretation of Zbigniew Preisner masterpiece soundtrack. I hope you enjoy this cover as much as I do. I had such a fun time arranging the melody, and filming clips of myself outside in my own garden. Please follow the link for the full video!!!
The joy of nostalgia. Who remembers the 1993 movie “The Secret Garden” with the amazing soundtrack? I loved that movie as a kid and I decided to do an arrangement of the most memorable melody. Words cannot express how much this weekend mean to us! It was the first time we used backing drums and guitars for a full sound experience live, and it was a success! This means hopefully more shows in the future, but for now we are simply enjoying this accomplishment. Huge thanks to The Amatory Murder, October Noir and Sister Kill Cycle Official for this amazing weekend.
