Be who you are. Love what you do. For an art technician there is no sight more satisfying than a perfectly executed grid.

Authentic for life. 🚀

So grateful to be shown appreciation by an artist. This amazing piece encapsulates so much of what it means to work in this industry. It’s raw and intense, yet ultimately beautiful.

Authentic Spotlight:
Tucker Eason
•Hi. I’m Tucker Eason, an Oil Painter from Colorado living in Brooklyn. Just over two years ago I moved from my longtime home in California where I managed a studio in West Oakland. I have been painting seriously for almost ten years but have always been fascinated by the art world.
•I have been handling art in various capacities for five-ish years. A student of the Sink or Swim school, I became intimately acquainted with installation, packing, and transport by hanging my own work at art fairs and pop up galleries. Only when I moved to NY did I start handling professionally at the Whitney Museum and galleries from Chelsea to Chinatown, to the Upper West Side.
•Outside of the studio I spend a lot of time in my woodshop. I build and restore custom furniture and entertain minor interior design projects. I am an expert estate sale haggler, flea market mercenary, and junk shop bounty hunter. I live on my bike and I'm an avid rock climber.
•As the world opens like a blooming perennial I’m excited to see art shows in person instead of online viewing rooms. I’m pumped for fair season. I cannot wait to be covered in the sweat of other people at packed concerts.
•I could not do any of this without my partner Samm. I could not ask for a more patient, understanding and loving woman to keep up with my chaotic bu****it. I love you. Also my incredibly talented assistant Hill Ggin. An artist herself (check her out) she makes my studio practice run like a well oiled machine.
Where can we keep up with you? (Websites, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)

Great minds...

We understand the work that goes into making art. Every artist has a unique process, and every piece deserves perfection.

Closed out the week on a high note 🙏

The art fair season is here but it’s not too late to start prepping.
Remember that you’re not alone this year. Be an Art Fair Hero and treat yourself (and your staff) to the peace of mind you can only get with full door-to-door service.
Our art fair rosters are officially open. DM about booking deals. Atelier 4 Inc.

When it comes to providing any service, it’s essential to go the extra mile. Our undeniable passion for art handling always stands out because of the cleanness, precision and knowledge with which we care for your investments.

The value of art is not directly tied to the stock market, meaning that paintings and sculptures can go up in value even when the market crashes - a perfect way to diversify an investment portfolio.
But don’t forget that specialized service is key to keep your investment’s integrity and value. Here at Authentic we understand the work that goes into every piece of art and we put that much work into securing it. That means all parties involved have piece of mind when it comes to caring for your investment.

art is so strong yet so frágil. Easy to install yet so challenging to handle.
Kapoor himself refers to the work as a "non-object" because its reflective surface allows the sculpture to disappear within its surroundings. His mirror sculptures are a conceptual variation of a landscape painting. Kapoor became known in the 1980s for his geometric or biomorphic sculptures that use simple materials like granite, limestone, marble, pigment and plaster. His early works are generally simple, curved forms, usually monochromatic and brightly colored, using powder pigment to define and permeate the form. Authentic Transport is definitely a fan and we’re always excited to take on the challenge of installing these state-of-the-art works which, no matter how big they are, usually only take a single hook or bracket to hang. They are truly marvels of modern engineering.

Art technician, it’s a profession often overlooked and often hard to explain. Art technicians undertake difficult projects that clients are unable to execute themselves without specialist expertise. Their job is to provide the know-how, problem-solving skills and equipment to help ensure often priceless items are packed, moved, and installed seamlessly. They possess the ability to identify hazards that may Impact your works base on materials, weather, and motion. Their daily routine involves improvising and resolving unexpected events that often threaten the completion of any job. They are the only few that have the privilege to handle historic items preserving the integrity of the works.

It’s always an honor to be part of such an exclusive and unique world like the fine art industry. You come face-to-face with precious works that have shaped history, the evolution of society and the world as a whole. Here, we were given the opportunity to install one of Takashi Murakami’s most monumental works, ‘tan tan bo’, which represents Japanese pop culture within a consumer society. Created in 2001, acrylic on canvas, mounted on board in three parts and standing at approximately 142”x213”. Don’t miss your opportunity to see it at Christie’s this November during the post war contemporary sale. Enjoy!

Many hands make light work!

It’s that time of the year again! Don’t miss your chance to visit all the public sales around the city.

Monochrome abstraction—the use of one color over an entire canvas—has been a strategy adopted by many painters wishing to challenge expectations of what an image can and should represent. Klein likened monochrome painting to an "open window to freedom." He worked with a chemist to develop his own particular brand of blue. Made from pure color pigment and a binding medium, it is called International Klein Blue. Klein adopted this hue as a means of evoking the immateriality and boundlessness of his own particular utopian vision of the world. Via MoMA The Museum of Modern Art
