The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office remains in OPCON 2 status with full operations in the Emergency Operations Center. Since 6 AM on January 22, our deputies have responded to 41 weather-related traffic incidents and continue assessing road conditions. Currently, many roads have 1 ½ to 2 inches of ice.

𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀:
"As the sun rises today, conditions are more hazardous than they have been during this entire storm. Dorchester County has declared a state of emergency to deploy even more resources in order to improve road conditions. Please be patient as we work around the clock to restore normalcy. For everyone’s safety, stay home and keep our first responders safe."
