Did you know.....'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' was originally written in 1993 about Billie's old girlfriend who moved back home to Ecuador to be with her family and further her education! Young Billie Joe tried his best to be sensible about the situation, however his frustration fueled the title 'Good Riddance'.
The original idea was to have it on their (soon-to-be) multi-platnium 1994 record 'Dookie'. It didn't make the cut because it didn't fit with the style of the rest of the album. It it was OFFICIALLY released on October 14th, 1997 as track no. 17 on 'Ni**od'. That album would go on to become Double Platnium on March 16th, 2000!
'Dookie' and 'Ni**od' combined have sold over 25,000,000 albums!
