4th of July is a time for fun, fireworks, and festivities, but for children with autism, the loud noises and bright lights can be overwhelming. Here are some tips to ensure they also enjoy the holiday:
Talk about the events of the day beforehand. Explain the fireworks and the crowds, so they know what to expect.
Bring along noise-canceling headphones or a favorite toy to provide comfort and a sense of security amidst the bustling environment.
If possible, watch fireworks from a distance where the sounds arenโt as intense. Alternatively, consider watching a live stream from the comfort of home.

Ensure your child wears identification and that you have a plan in case you get separated in crowded places.
