Your satisfaction with Thousand Trails is very important to us, and we’re always looking for ways to improve your experience at the campgrounds. One of the ways we can do that is by offering more options in the booking process.

As we have previously shared, we have been introducing site type selection during the booking process at select properties. Over the next few months, we will be expanding this modified booking process to include all campgrounds. When booking a site in accordance with your membership contract, you have the opportunity to choose a specific site type. For example, you may select a “Water/Electric/Sewer” site or a “Water/Electric No Sewer” site. Site types vary by property and your selection is subject to availability of your preferred site type. Upon your arrival at these campgrounds, you are assigned a site based on the site type you selected when you made your reservation.

We would like to thank you for continuing to share your feedback. Your feedback provides us with opportunities to continue to make improvements as we implement this modified booking process at additional campgrounds. Many members appreciate the ability to have more visibility into their upcoming stays along with the expedited check-in process upon arriving at the campground. They also appreciate the ability to work with our onsite teams to identify a site in their selected site-type that works well for their needs. Others have shared the importance of being able to be near friends and the onsite teams’ overall knowledge of the sites within the campground. We have taken this feedback into consideration as we continue to train our teams on best practices. Another key topic has been safety. Assigning sites at time of check in ensures we know where our members and guests are staying within the campground, in case of an emergency.

We understand that it can take some time to acclimate to a new process, especially when modifying how we implement “first come, first served” at additional properties. However, we believe this exciting new feature to our reservation system will continue to improve the booking, check-in, and site selection process for everyone.

We are optimistic that, with your cooperation, this update will elevate your camping experience with us. Thank you for being a loyal Thousand Trails member. We look forward to seeing you at our campgrounds soon.
