A MUST SWIPE!!!!!!!
Our client really wanted to incorporate rock into the design, so we found a way to make it flow beautifully throughout the space. While rock gives that clean, modern look, it doesnât do the same favors for your soil as mulch doesâbut hey, sometimes youâve gotta mix function with style and meet your client where they are at!
We leaned into a bright, happy color palette with pops of orange, yellow, purple, green, and white to keep things feeling fresh and fun. And to bring it all home, we added a few Natives as well like sea lavender, beach verbena, and thatch palm đż
Colorful+coastal, while still incorporating natives, Florida-Friendly plants, and utilizing our soil health practices! Although this landscape was more of a Florida- Friendly garden, weâre happy to move the needle, even in a small way!

Check out this extreme before and after series! Not only did we add over 20 native species to this small HOA backyard here in Jupiter FL, but we EXPANDED, extended and beautified this space! Native buffer zone, stone retention wall, butterfly garden and even a small edible section. NO space is too small for Longleaf Design to get to work! Our goal is to always to move the needle for the native world, even if youâre yard is only 1/8 of an acre!
Enjoy swiping through these before & afters, and let us know your favorite part below!!!
From Clusia to LIFE! đŠ đ đ đŠ Another huge win for a Longleaf Design! Completing this project was joyous- another lifeless HOA community here in Jupiter FL; we changed that! Now with over 20 native species installed, a butterfly garden, and a gorgeous stone retention wall, not only did we add life but we added a gorgeous backyard for our client to truly enjoy.
Goodbye light and space sucking Clusia & hello life! If youâre looking for a backyard (or any land) redesign & install, you know who to call!
(Sorry for the sound glitch, itâs fixed!!)
Come along this video and check out a native privacy barrier we are working on in Palm Beach Country Estates! Drop a question below about native shrub alternatives đ± We love being flexible and meeting our clients needs with truly listening to them, and utilizing our deep passion for plant knowledge & placement.
How can we help bring life to your land?!

ATTENTION CLIENTS AND FRIENDS- PLEASE WATCH REGARDING THE RECENT FREEZE.
Have some faith & patience!
And lastly, itâs a good time to get connected for a redesign or install if thatâs something you have been considering.
Thank you, Cam.
From the BEFORE, initial install, to AFTER! One of our all time favorite projects (I know we say that a lot đ). Celebrating this ONE YEAR of GROWTH with some drone fun and a reel! Over 80 native species in this project. This land is now bursting with butterflies and LIFE!
As always, itâs an honor and a blessing to do this work alongside you all!
Can you spot any plants you know? Drop a comment if so!
Some fun side by side & drone action for you all! This job is fully installed and just as of this week is taking OFF in the best way possible! This drone footage was a few weeks back, and we canât wait to share more footage as these native plants start to explode with growth & life.
This video also features our 3D rendering we offer to clients. Itâs an amazing way to get a handle on how your property is going to look before an instal takes place. We are able to build out your house, driveways, pool, and just about anything else you may want to view alongside your landscape.
Letâs continue to bring LIFE to this Florida land. Hereâs to a strong start to 2026! đȘ đ± đł đș đ đŠ âïž

Creating REAL gardens and fixing Landscape Architectsâ mistakes.
Welcome to Mariaâs garden! With over an acre of space, Maria went the route most people dismiss. No grass, leave the native trees, and gardens all around the property.
This home is a fairly new build and I commend them for many things landscape wise. However, there are many things where the LA went wrong. One of the more important areas neglected were listening to the wants/needs of the client.
Maria specifically asked for no palms, and instead of taking that into consideration, about 50 Chinese Fan Palms and a whole bunch of Robellini Palms were planted throughout the property.
In addition, there were multiple areas where annuals were planted which left âholes or pocketsâ in the gardens once they died which allowed weeds to take over shortly after.
They also planted foundation shrubs that want to be 20feet tall directly next to the house with the intention of shaving them into rectangles for the rest of their lives.
This is a short list of where this garden went wrong. We have been working with Maria the last two years to fix these issues and update her garden to what her wants/needs actually are!
The goal is to create a property boundary with Florida native species for habitat, privacy, pollinators, etc. While the interior gardens become private botanical gardens using Florida-Friendly plants which will live for years, take up more space, and add blooms/texture throughout the year.
We have made some fantastic progress so far and this post illuminates some of the flowers that were blooming while we were there last visit!
Usually you hear about native species or fruit trees, but today I wanted to highlight some of my favorite âFlorida-Friendlyâ plants! Oh by the way, these are excellent additions for your food forests too as support species!
This property requires a video walkthrough, but for now enjoy the photos!
If youâre tired of the destructive, lame, and ridiculous traditional landscaping and youâre interested in having a REAL garden, call Longleaf Design!
