💙 Help Give Scooby the Future He Deserves 💙
Scooby is a young Boxer with so much life ahead of him.
When Scooby came to Atlanta Boxer Rescue, we thought he simply had a stiff leg. After a few vet visits and a set of X-rays, we learned the cause. Scooby has a femoral neck fracture and needs an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy).
The challenge is the cost. Scooby’s surgery is estimated to cost over $5,000, and he’ll likely need physical therapy afterward to help him regain strength and get back to doing all the things young Boxers love.
As a young dog, this surgery will make an enormous difference in his future. It will give him the opportunity to run, play, and enjoy life without his hip holding him back.
Every donation, whether it’s $10, $25, $50, or more, helps move Scooby one step closer to the surgery and rehabilitation he deserves.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing Scooby’s story. Every share helps us reach more people who may be able to make a difference.
Together, we can help Scooby get back to being the happy, active Boxer he’s meant to be.
From all of us at Atlanta Boxer Rescue, and especially from Scooby, thank you for believing every Boxer deserves a second chance. ❤️

We need help, and we want to be honest with you about why.
Every Boxer that comes into our program gets an intake exam, is spayed or neutered, and is brought up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention. If they need medication, they get it. Whether it’s an injury or illness they came to us with that’s identified during their care, or something unexpected that arises while they’re in foster care, we cover that too. We don’t cut corners on their care because these dogs have already been through enough. ❤️
But that care costs money, and it doesn’t stop once the intake exam is over. Some of the Boxers in our program, especially our seniors and dogs with serious medical needs, never get adopted. They stay with us for the rest of their lives, and that means ongoing monthly costs: medication, vet visits, and end-of-life care that we refuse to scale back just because a dog is old. They still matter to us, and that costs money every single month.
On top of that, simply keeping the rescue running, regardless of how many new dogs come in, costs us real money every month. Right now our general funds are running low, and those are the funds that cover all of it: the baseline cost of staying in business, ongoing care for the dogs who may never leave our program, plus intake exams, routine medical care, medications, preventatives, and the unexpected expenses that come with rescue.
Atlanta Boxer Rescue has been entirely volunteer-run since 2008. We don’t have paid staff. We have people who show up because they love this breed and believe every Boxer deserves a real chance at a healthy life and a loving home. That hasn’t changed. What’s changed is that the cost of doing this work the right way is catching up to us faster than we can raise the money to cover it.
We’re not asking because we want sympathy. We’re asking because we can’t keep helping Boxers the way we have been without support from people who believe in this mission.
Over the coming days, we’ll also be sharing individual stories of Boxers who need urgent and expensive surgeries. We’ll have to raise money to be able to give them the care they need, and we hope you’ll follow along as we share their journeys and the lifesaving care they receive.
But today, we’re asking for your help to replenish our general funds so we can continue saying yes to Boxers who need us.
💛 How can you help?
A one-time donation makes an immediate impact and helps provide care for the dogs currently in our program.
Or, even better, become a monthly donor. We can often raise money for a one-time surgery when we ask. What’s harder is covering the steady, ongoing cost of keeping the rescue itself running and caring for the dogs who stay with us for life. That’s why monthly donations matter so much: they give us the reliable support we need to keep our long-term dogs cared for, month after month.
Every dollar goes directly toward helping these dogs heal, feel safe, and find their forever homes. 🐾
Thank you for believing in our Boxers and being part of their second chance. ❤️

🎉 Happy Tails, Georgia! 🎉
Some dogs just know when they’re finally home… and we’d say Georgia got the message loud and clear. ❤️
This sweet girl has joined a family where she’ll never be short on love. With a fur-sibling to share beds (whether they’re invited or not 😆), and humans who are already completely smitten, it’s safe to say she’s exactly where she belongs.
Georgia’s journey also came full circle. She was pulled from the shelter by a law enforcement volunteer family, fostered by a law enforcement volunteer family, and by pure coincidence, adopted by a law enforcement family.
We’d say the law was definitely on her side. 💙
Congratulations to Georgia and her wonderful family! Thank you for opening your hearts and giving this beautiful girl the happily-ever-after she deserves.❤️🐾

Hi there, I’m Cookie! If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate sidekick who thinks personal space is just a suggestion, I am your girl! Whether you are working at your desk, watching TV, or cooking in the kitchen, I’ll be right there by your side.
I’m a girl with a few favorite hobbies: I love chewing on toys, though keep an eye out because I’m still learning the difference between my chew toys and well... just about anything else I can get my paws on! The good news is that I do have great manners when it’s time to settle down, and I am totally comfortable in my crate.
My ideal forever home will have:
🏡 A fenced yard: I need a safe place to run out my boxer energy!
🐕 A doggy sibling: I would absolutely love a canine friend to play and hang out with.
🚫🐱 No cats, please: I prefer to keep my furry circle strictly canine!
If you are ready for endless love, boxer kisses, and a best friend who will never leave your side, mention me, Cookie, on your application!

Help Us Give Woods His Second Chance! 🐶
Thanks to his dedicated trainer, this once timid, fearful boy has made great strides, gained confidence, and learned the world is not quite as scary as he once thought. Now, Woods is ready to move out of his board-and-train program and into a stable, adults-only foster home with a fenced yard to start his next chapter!
Woods is a fun, silly boy who deeply bonds with his people and enjoys the company of other dogs. Because he is heartworm positive, his path to healing includes about six weeks of quiet time and crate rest. Can you provide the love, stability, and calm confidence he needs during this journey?
Requirements for Woods' Foster Home:
☑️ Adults-only household
☑️ Fenced yard
☑️ Can provide 6 weeks of calm, post-treatment crate rest
☑️ Patience to help him continue building trust and confidence
If you are in the greater Atlanta area and want to open your home, apply to foster Woods today!

Tucker
Age: 1.5 years old
S*x: Male
Weight: 56 pounds (underweight)
Ears/Tail: Natural/Docked
HW Test: Negative
Available: End of July
Meet Tucker! 🐾
Tucker is a happy, playful “velcro” boy who is ready to steal your heart (and your couch space)! He is an eager learner who knows some basic commands, comes when called, and walks well on a harness. Tucker is working on keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting people, so a home without small children is ideal. Like any young Boxer, he’s still learning and will thrive with a family committed to continuing his training.
Tucker needs a home with a fenced yard for his zoomies. He enjoys romping around with the other pups in his foster home and would love having a fun, playful dog to be his new best friend and partner in crime. Because he has shown interest in the cats in his foster home, a cat-free environment is needed.
If you’re looking for a fun, loyal, and affectionate companion who’s ready for adventures and cuddles, Tucker is your guy! 💙
