Print Artists to Work with UWSP Art Students
Ten nationally and internationally known print artists will come to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to create art for the biennial “Monoprint 2015: A Gathering of Artists” event.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily May 21-28 in the Noel Fine Arts Center Printmaking Studio (Room 183) and is open to the public and school groups for viewing. Artists will create their prints with assistance from art and design students. At the end of the week, two prints will be chosen from each artist to be professionally framed.
The framed prints will be sold at the Gala Print Sale and Exhibition Thursday, May 28, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Carlsten Gallery at the Noel Fine Arts Center. All proceeds will benefit the Department of Art and Design’s printmaking program. All are welcome to view and bid on the prints, which are $300 each.
The artists will include UW-Stevens Point alumnus Shawn Ganther, Ina Kaur, Mark Ritchie, Jenny Robinson, Andy Rubin, Yvette Pino, Tracy Templeton, Quian Zhao and Art and Design Department faculty members Bob Erickson, Rob Stolzer and Kristin Thielking.
