Heeling House
Heeling House is a non profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of kids with special needs through the use of Animal Assisted Interactions
We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! Heeling House had a float in the Leesburg Halloween Parade, and our service dogs in training were represented with the beverage theme this year! We were also happy to have some of our therapy dog teams join us. We had a wonderful time being out in the community, giving out candy, and raising awareness for the work that we do! All the dogs did great with the moving float, costumes, and the commotion of the parade.
Thank you to our puppy raisers, therapy dog teams, and other volunteers for coming out and helping with the float! What would you order off of our menu?🥤🧋

Our candy themed service puppies in training had training class last night where they practiced their down stays, heeling, and sitting! Charlie, Hershey, Peppi, Mars, Rocky, and Snickers all did such a great job focusing on their handlers even though they were all together! They had a fun time socializing at the end. We just know hearing all there names is making it hard to resist the Halloween candy until tomorrow, so we hope these pictures of hardworking puppies can hold you over until then! 🍫🐕🦺🍭🦮

We hope you had a wonderful Monday and a great start to your week! Last week, therapy dog in-training, Joy, got to experience a fun school day at Deer Park Elementary School.
What could be better than snuggling with a pup after a hard day?
Meet the newest service puppy in-training, ready to take on the world! Loudoun County Animal Services reached out when this little lady was surrendered to see if she would make a good fit for our programs. Now, this rescue pup has a new lease on life!
She begins her service training in the Heeling House Service Puppy Program. In the program, Heeling House has partnered with Loudoun County Sheriff's Office where select inmates will teach this puppy what she needs to know for service work from obedience to foundational skills. We hope to keep you updated on her progress!
This puppy doesn't have a name just yet! Her planned graduating class has a "candy" name theme. Head over to the Loudoun County Animal Services to place your vote for her new name.
Heeling House Service Dogs In-Training had a big week with a visit to the vet. These pups got their vaccines updated to keep them going strong. The health and well-being of a working animal is critical to a long and happy career.
We are so grateful to work with Nova Animal Hospital - Ashburn VA who has taken such great care of our dogs. Just look at all these smiling faces!

We hope you've enjoyed meeting the therapy dogs and learning more about Heeling House. If you are interested in joining the Heeling House family or learning more about us, we would love to hear from you.
On our final days of voting, we want to highlight the future of Heeling House. Staff members participate in different programs with their own trained therapy dogs. Over time, new puppies are brought into our homes to join the Heeling house family and learn to love others.
Dr. Pepper is an eleven month-old labradoodle and typically the smartest guy in the room. He is practicing being calm and composed for school and therapy visits. Pepper's favorite activity is running around the yard with his brothers.
Shirley Temple is a nine month-old standard poodle with lots of personality. She is learning cute tricks and how to politely work with children for our PACK program and Kid Nights. Shirley's favorite activity is hiking in the woods to find the best stick to chew on.
Toblerone (Toby) is a six month-old english lab. He is a big guy that loves to lounge around and chill with his friends. Toby is learning that kids are lots of fun (and full of treats).
Each puppy has their own BIG personality, and we are hopeful that these pups will have a bright future!
Looking to get your puppy training started early or wondering how to deal with chewing and crate training? Then join our Group Puppy Class! This class is designed for puppies under six months old to address developmental milestones and introduce your puppy to learning. Class begins on Monday, May 6th at 6:30 PM.
