Today on Veterans Day, we pause to reflect on the brave men and women who have served our country with honor and dedication. Their sacrifices have helped shape the freedoms we cherish and the strength of our communities.

We are proud to honor the veterans in our community and beyond with our Flags for Heroes display.

As we reflect on their sacrifices today, let’s remember that the freedoms we enjoy are a result of their strength and commitment. Thank you, veterans, for your service and your enduring legacy.

Food for Neighbors is holding their Red Bag Collection this Saturday!

Help kids in our community have enough to eat by filling a red bag with the listed items and leaving it for pickup, or help pick up or sort donations for your local collection site.

----------

Scouting for Food to fill local food pantries is also this Saturday - collecting family sized non-perishable food for local food pantries to help those with food insecurity this upcoming winter. Two great ways to help our neighbors!

Red Bag Day is this Saturday! If you are unable to fill a Red Bag this month, you can still help local teens struggling with hunger! Your donation through our Virtual Red Bag Program supports the ongoing work done through all of the Food For Neighbors programs and helps us to continue to provide a reliable source of food for local students and their families.

Put your bag in a highly visible location so our driver can find it easily. Our drivers pick up 15-20 donations, so if you have an exceptionally large donation that might fill a significant part of their vehicle, please let us know ahead of time (contact us via the website). The next meeting of the Rotary Club of Sterling will be held this Wednesday, June 19 at 12:30. Please join us at Bungalow Lakehouse in Sterling or online for our last meeting of the 2023-2024 Rotary year.

At this meeting we will be joined by the club Youth Essay Contest winner, David Uddin and his family. After winning our club's essay contest, his essay was submitted to the Rotary District 7610 Youth Essay Contest, where he placed 2nd, with a prize of $500. This is a great accomplishment, so come out to congratulate our winner.

We will also be joined by George Lewis and Ruth Bowling. They have a passion for Rotary and for helping children with cleft palates through Rotary global grant projects. Ruth will be sharing with us how the global grant process works and how their cleft lip and palate project is helping children live better lives. George is enthusiastic about Rotary and making a difference in the world. He was highlighted in an article on the Rotary International blog, and you can read about him here: https://blog.rotary.org/2024/03/28/my-purpose-passion-in-rotary-and-pet-portraits/

Please come out tomorrow to show support for our young scholar, and learn more about how Rotary is changing lives around the world. I hope to see you there.
