We live in a world where millions go to bed hungry each night. But we’re doing our part by making sure that no one lives hungry. A day well spent supporting INMED Partnerships for Children by unloading, sorting, and distributing food for families facing food insecurity across the region!

In wrapping up our Kids in Crisis Drive, our last two stops included the Herndon Police Department where we delivered 100 blankets to help replenish their depleted inventory, and INMED Partnerships for Children where we dropped off two large bags of brand new stuffed animals. We had such tremendous support from the community for this drive and there are so many children who will be comforted by your generosity and kindness. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We can't do what we do without you.
Through our Kids in Crisis Drive, we were able to deliver some much needed blankets to both Embry Rucker Shelter and the Fairfax County Police Department - Reston branch. The generosity of our members, partners and colleagues leaves a lasting positive impact on our communities and we are so grateful; we can't do what we do without you. Next and final stops - INMED Partnerships for Children and Herndon Police Department - stay tuned!

It's unusual for us to when someone has to drop out of one of our programs. But in this case, we congratulate Nteseng Maripa of Bultfontein, who recently withdrew from our youth food production project in Free State, South Africa to accept a full-time job! The unemployment rate in her community is more than 70%, and it is particularly difficult for youth to find jobs. Nteseng was learning gardening to provide for her family. With her new skills and the tools that INMED South Africa & WOOLWORTHS provided, Nteseng plans to continue growing. “Home gardening has had a positive impact in my life,” she says.
What's in YOUR garden? Tell us!

Did you know? Tilapia is high in vitamin B12, which helps your body make DNA, maintain its nervous system, and produce red blood cells. It's also low in fat, saturated fat, omega-3 fatty acids, calories, carbohydrates and sodium making it a healthy addition to any meal. Food insecure families in Pucallpa are currently benefitting from nearly 300 lbs of tilapia our team at INMED Brasil just harvested from our system at SERTA - Serviço de Tecnologia Alternativa.

Proud to partner with WOOLWORTHS to improve the lives of unemployed youth in Free State, South Africa.

INMED South Africa was among seven beneficiaries of WOOLWORTHS’ ‘Take a moment to make a difference’ Christmas campaign in 2021. The participants’ training is part of a six-month programme to provide AgriSETA accredited training for primary agriculture as well as basic training in aquaponics.

As we celebrate National Youth Month, these young people are candid about the challenges they have faced and how this training is changing their outlook for the future.

Some of the youth are living with a disability and/or without a matric qualification, so the chance to learn aquaponics has opened doors to opportunities they would never have dreamed of in their hometowns of Bultfontein and Kroonstad.

Each participant will receive seeds, basic tools and shade netting, as well as basic training in climate-smart aquaponics to help the youth improve their household food security and create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

Unathi Sihlahla, Director of INMED South Africa, explains that INMED has been creating opportunities for innovative, climate-smart food production in vulnerable communities across the country for over a decade. Last year, parent NGO INMED Partnerships for Children launched the country’s first INMED Aquaponics® Social Enterprise (INMED Aquaponics Social Enterprise) in Vanderbijlpark, and this year will be leveraging the INMED ASE model to tackle youth unemployment by training the next-generation agri-entrepreneurs.
