At the conclusion of the First Presbyterian Church’s Snowball Mountain Challenge Vacation Bible School, it was abundantly clear the students shared laughter and love while learning to “share my gifts,” “give my all,” “be brave,” have “hope” and “pray.” Through stories, games, art and music, plus with the help of Ollie the Sea Otter, VBS “challengers” found bravery, courage and self-confidence thanks to Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Following a presentation to parents and friends, VBS 2026 at First Presbyterian Church ended with a gathering of food and friendship.

The excitement was loud on the fourth day of the First Presbyterian Church’s Snowball Mountain Challenge Vacation Bible School when “challengers” proclaimed "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. Ollie the Sea Otter, VBS celebrity blogger, knew that was true, but was still sad because he didn’t feel connected with God. Thanks to the help of his VBS “challenger” friends, Ollie discovered prayer is the direct line to God.

It was a morning of learning the value of sharing, gifting and doing their very best during Day 3 of the First Presbyterian Church’s Snowball Mountain Challenge Vacation Bible School. Today the students learned about a poor widow who left two tiny coins worth less than one penny in the offering box at the temple. Knowing the widow gave everything she had to live on, Jesus said she gave more to God than everyone else because the widow gave out of her love and trust, not just her extra money. Through stories, games, art and music, plus with the help of Ollie the Sea Otter, VBS “challengers” are learning bravery, courage and self-confidence thanks to Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Ollie the Sea Otter took some time away from his online presence to visit some of the “contests” in the First Presbyterian Church’s Snowball Mountain Challenge. Today the students learned about the bravery of Esther and how being scared and being brave can happen at the same time as they gain strength and courage through Philippians 4:13. Vacation Bible School at First Presbyterian Church will continue the remainder of the week from 9 a.m. until noon. Pre-kindergartners through fifth graders are welcome. Registration can be done online at https://fpcvbs.mycokesburyvbs.com or onsite prior to 9 a.m. at FPC, 130 S. 4th St.
