Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and your world better than you found it. – Marian Wright Edelman

"I am a junior at North Carolina A&T State University. I was elated to find out that I was a recipient of the scholarship award from the Joyce & Thomas Moorehead Foundation. This scholarship has helped to lighten the financial burden for me and my mom, which gives me room to focus more on my school work without the added stress."

"When hope is given, faith is restored. Throughout my time at Spelman College, there were many times I would wonder where the funding for my next semester would come from. Sometimes I would doubt myself and believe that I didn't belong in college because unlike my colleagues, I couldn't afford the cost of tuition. Until one day, The Joyce & Thomas Moorehead Foundation gave me hope. I was awarded a scholarship that aided my educational expenses. This allowed me to focus more in the classroom and less on job applications while being a full-time student. Yet most of all, the Foundation gave me a support system. The Mooreheads have continuously encouraged me to succeed in my educational endeavors. I am forever grateful to The Joyce & Thomas Moorehead Foundation for all they have done. I could never say thank you enough."
