The was all hands on deck for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Annex Building project.

Masonry repairs were made to the façade along with recaulking and stone replacement.
All limestone was removed using chain falls and scaffolding.
SEG Engineers monitored all progress and made repair recommendations as work progressed.

Did you know that the Layalhanna Dam was authorized by the Flood Control Acts of 1936 and 1938? It was completed in 1951 and was one of 16 flood control projects constructed in the Pittsburgh District. Today, the dam provides flood protection for the lower Loyalhanna Creek and Kiskiminetas River valleys and recreation opportunities. SEG is proud to be part of the Loyalhanna Dam's rehabilitation.

The original Bureau of Engraving and Printing was opened on July 1, 1880, but by the 1930s, the facility had become too small for all of the Bureau's responsibilities, which included printing money, stamps, and government security documents. In 1938, a new facility was opened across the street from the original building. We are proud to be part of the preservation of this historic building!

The SEG team is proud to be working on a major project to rehabilitate the 3th and 14th St sides of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Annex Building in Washington, DC.

Supported by the talented engineers in the Structural Engineering group, the Structural Rehabilitation division provides specialty services that include concrete construction, concrete repairs, corrosion controls (such as cathodic protection), stone masonry restoration, structural strengthening, core drilling and site work.

Danmei is a licensed Structural Engineer with over 30 years of experience. She has led designs of numerous complex structures throughout her engineering career. Her innovative designs have been recognized among her customers and peers.

Danmei started SEG with a single employee in her home basement in 2005, and she has led SEG’s business growth from being just a structural engineering service to also offer design-build, general construction, and structural repair services.
