Our Story
The mission program vision of BABF is to direct and support the establishment of self-sustaining villages in the Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe. This mission is accomplished through a program called Adopt-A-Village in which partner organizations help fund and participate in the construction of schools, health clinics, farms, and other facilities that will provide basic needs and economic opportunities. Partner mission teams will the opportunity to help with construction, lead bible study, and encourage faith in Jesus and a personal relationship with Him. The goal is for each village to acquire within three years the facilities and skills to maintain economic and spiritual sustenance.
The general method by which BABF goes about their mission is:
Choose a village to work with based on needs and communication with village heads.
Assess site and formulate plans.
Agree on final plans

BABF saw that the need for support services like transportation and lodging would be critical to secure partnerships with American churches, universities, and corporations. So in 2008 BABF invested in an upstart Zimbabwean company called The People’s Link which provides airport shuttle and other transportation services. Through a generous donation from a Zimbabwean native, BABF acquired land in the Victoria Falls region and in November 2014 began construction on a base camp lodge for visitors. The lodge will house twenty four (24) guests and will be called the iroCK Lodge, which stands for i rely on Christ the King.
With these two foundational parts of the plan complete, the focus for growth at BABF is on introducing the “Adopt-A-Village” concept to prospective church, university, and corporate partners. It typically takes $255,000 over a 3-year period to execute most village projects. Usually $125,000 is required the first year to construct a new school and clinic in the village. The school building will become the cultural center of the village, serving as a gathering place for worship, marketplace, and other community activities. Each of the following two years typically require on the order of $65,000 to complete the project. BABF provides fundraising, financing, and project management. It is unusual that a new village project will start without enough commitments in place to fund at least the first year.
During the 3-year project, partner organizations are strongly encouraged to commit annual mission visits. Within three years the Village should be 100% self-sustaining.
Besides the iroCK Lodge and Adopt-A-Village projects, BABF is conducting peripheral projects such as:
ZAMTEF – Zimbabwe Agricultural Malaria Treatment & Education Farms
Jatropha farming for biodiesel fuels and other useful byproducts
