Special Thanks goes out to all of our volunteers for helping with setup, hospitality, and motivation during the race, Claude Moore Park for allowing us to use your facility as a part of our course, Soldierfit Sterling for bringing some goodies and leading all of our runners in a pre-race warm up, Potomac River Running Store for supplying us with swag and gift cards for our finishers as well. We loved our very own high school band “World View” and enjoyed the live music that they provided for the attendees.
We would also like to thank Park View and Sterling Middle Schools PTSA and SCA for the support in helping this event happen.
And last but not least, thank you all donors and participants who gave and came out to support. After Saturdays event, we raised a total of $1167 that will be split between The track program and running club at Sterling Middle! The proceeds will go towards team meals, traveling expenses, etc.
We hope everyone enjoyed the 5K and are looking forward to doing this again in 2023!
See you next year!

We had recently taken in an Imperial Moth and her eggs which had been laid in an unsafe location. Today they finally hatched. You can check out their progress in the Visitor Center daily from 9am-5pm.

The spotted lanterfly has been sighted in Loudoun County. When doing your part in helping eliminate this invasive and destructive species, please be aware that there are similar looking insects that we do not want to harm.
The top picture is a tiger moth. There are several species of these moths found in Virginia which have the same coloration as the lanternfly, but not spotted.
Follow this link for more information about the spotted lanternfly, how to identify and destroy the eggs, nymphs, and adults, and to report their location.
