One of our regular volunteers is working on cleaning up the boards from the Nokes Manure Spreader. When the manure spreader was in use, car oil was poured onto the boards to prevent manure from eating into the wood. Fred is working on scraping the oil off the boards.

Spring Fest is happening right now inside the
Our family friendly Spring Fest is still happening despite the rain! The event will now be inside the . Come out and enjoy a glass of wine (drink fees apply), get some food truck food, listen to music, draw some chalk art, enjoy children's crafts and other activities.

Join us on Fridays at the Farm Museum for a quilting bee (materials fee apply). Learn how to quilt a 12" quilt square. Squares will be joined and quilted for donation to The Homeless Remembrance Project for an art installation at the US Capitol on December 12, 2022. Quilts will then be given to those in need.

We will also accept donations of completed squares made on your own time. Finished quilt squares must be donated no later than November 1st.

Holiday season is here! Come to Claude Moore Park and check out the holiday lights and decorations. For this Saturday night only:
- hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows (outside)
- crafts inside the museum
- mulled cider samples inside the museum

The holiday lights and decorations will be available daily through December 24th. Park will close promptly at 7pm.

Shop with us and support local businesses! Dominion Tea custom blended a tea for the museum as well as made our mulling spices and hot toddy spices. The soap is handmade by Parsonage Soap out of Lovettsville. The apple butter is also made locally in Frederick.

We just received a Standard rotary sewing machine and treadle table along with photos from the Stowers family. The items belonged to Mary Hope Worley who passed away this summer. Mary Hope worked in Fairfax Public Schools where she served as Principal for Centerville ES, Layton Hall ES, and Sleepy Hollow ES.

The Stowers family owned a 200 acre cattle farm along Evergreen Mills Road, where the Dulles Greenway and Simpson Middle School are located.

It's been a busy few days getting ready for our 18th Annual Apple Festival. Stakes were put in the ground to fence in the perimeter of the festival area, a stage was put together for the live music, and picnic benches were put in place for food and the 21+ wine and hard cider garden. Tickets are available for pre-purchase until 4pm today. Admission will be available on Saturday during the event. It will be a beautiful day out for all things apple.
