Shout out to our friends and partners at Allan Myers, especially our WIC Week Chair, Pooja Guddimath!
On day one of Women in Construction Week, we're featuring Pooja Guddimath. Pooja is a Field Engineer in Northern Virginia and took some time to answer some questions about her experiences in the field.
Q: What are you most proud of professionally?
A: I am proud of the work I accomplished on a mega project like 66 Express Lanes and the immense support I get from my amazing supervisor Laurie. I am proud to work on a project of this magnitude and learn how to seek help when needed. I am always told I am a quick learner, and I pay attention to details which helped me understand the responsibilities assigned to me.

Nothing like fresh air and good company!
We love finding different ways to spend time with one another as a chapter.
We may all be united as , but the things we enjoy doing in our spare time vary.
When ladies asked for a hiking event, we couldn’t say no.
While it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, we knew it fed the souls of some of our ladies. And we are here to do just that?
Want another hike in the spring, or want to try a different kind of event, just let us know.

When the event is so good you forget to take a group photo with the ladies, so you come home and gather up your notes and gifts for a crappy, poorly lit photo instead…
Thank you for sharing your new space with us tonight. (For anyone new to this chapter/our page, Davis has been such a huge part of NAWIC NOVA since the beginning! Insanely grateful for the support!)
Thank you for donating notebooks, cups, AND bottles! They were a hit! I felt like Santa walking in and sharing your generosity with the gang.
To the ladies who attended, you each made the event so much richer. Can’t wait for our next round table!
The last 6-7 months have been a learning curve! But so much fun all the same!
Last month we hosted a networking event in Tysons. We received feedback on what you all wanted moving forward.
One of those topics included specific time dedicated to just the general meetings!
We are implementing it tonight!
What are other things you would like us to implement within our chapter?
Our chapter offers opportunities to learn from the BEST of the DMV!
We have tried our hands at soldering, welding, ductfitting, drywall hanging and finishing, and are looking to tackle our next trade!
Is there a trade you want to learn more about?
Do you work for a subcontractor? Want to partner up?
Ending our weekend strong! Our ladies teamed up to supply a brunch for 55 people at the SERVE campus in Manassas, VA.
We highly encourage you to check out . What they provide to our community is invaluable. We were grateful to be a part of it. We look forward to more in the future!
