Comm Grain is working to make our grain supply more local and resilient. We've been able to connect with some amazing growers and millers through our membership. We're they're ONLY retail member but that just means MORE bread samples for us! It's pretty inspiring to see how this network of farmers and bakers has grown over the years to ensure we stay fed!

Shenandoah Community Capital Fund is unique because we actually never tapped into them for money, not to say we might not one day ask! Instead, we find their free access to thinkers, bankers, consultants, and advisors to be priceless. We've gotten site visits, staff coaching, tech support, and legal advice from them for FREE! We can't wait to see how this organization will continue to inspire and invigorate our region's independent businesses.

Burrow and Vine
Almost one year ago, Megan Burrows closed her loan with SCCF to open Burrow and Vine in Downtown Staunton! Now, she sells plants, home decor, and what she calls "plant-adjacent" items.
Finances were a really scary thing to me, and I felt like I didn’t know enough to be handling them,” Megan said, “But, the SCCF loan team helped me walk through everything and reassured me that I had the tools I needed to get it done. The whole process felt so ‘me-first’ instead of ‘business-first’ which I really appreciated.”
Read more about Megan's experience with the SCCF loan program, and her entrepreneurial journey, on our blog! https://buff.ly/3IGFJe4

"15 years of SCCF, wow! The last time I was sitting down really thinking about milestones, was when I was helping plan our 10-year anniversary party. How have five years gone by so quickly? I’m so amazed and thankful for all that has happened with our organization over the past 15 years as the Staunton Creative Community Fund and now Shenandoah Community Capital Fund. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of the community, ecosystem partners, and past and present board members and staff."

Our Story
Since our founding in 2008, the Staunton Creative Community Fund has been dedicated helping small businesses. We serve as the local hub for entrepreneurial innovation and bring together the talent, creativity, information, funding, and resources that grow a vibrant local economy.
Starting a business is challenging. The Fund can help you navigate the pitfalls, detours, highs, and lows of starting or expanding a small business. In a world of cold calculations and high-interest loans, we are a safe place for dreamers and schemers to imagine the possibilities, ask questions, and get the funding they need in order to succeed. We are your team.
📷While based in Staunton, we’ve continued to grow and now serve the entire Central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, including: Augusta County, Rockingham County, Rockbridge County, Highland County, Bath County, Albermarle County, Nelson County, Staunton , Harrisonburg, Waynesboro, Lexington, and Buena Vista.
