June's teacher spotlight is on Miss Sandy! Miss Sandy has been with us since 2024, in both preschool and toddler classrooms!

Miss Sandy has decades of experience and so much love that she brings to all children in our center. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family (including 11 grandchildren!), doing puzzles, and crafting.

This month we are shining the spotlight on Miss India! Miss India joined Building Bridges in 2024. She has spent time as a support teacher, in preschool, and now with our 2s and 3s!

Miss India has her bachelor's in psychology, and has spent many years as a summer camp counselor and baby sitter.

In her spare time, Miss India enjoys reading, crocheting, legos, and puzzles! Her favorite memory as a teacher is when one of her students asked his mom when he was coming back to school because he loved it so much.

Week of the Young Child is in full swing! So far this week we have welcomed guest musicians, made a tasty graham cracker/cool whip snack, and worked together for the Jared Box project and made cards for a nursing home. We can't wait to see what the next few days bring!

Today is World Health Day! There are many ways to help prevent various illnesses, like regular handwashing, scheduling annual doctor visits, and staying home/masking when you are feeling ill.

The week of April 13th to the 17th is "The Week of the Young Child". This year we plan to engage in all the fun!
If anyone hasn't heard of " The Week of the Young Child" here is an overview:
The Week of the Young Child® is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 60,000 members and a network of 51 Affiliates. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child® in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child® is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
