The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) presents a broad array of opportunities for the study of life, encompassing 9 schools and departments.Together, they offer 17 majors and 45 concentrations for undergraduates and ten majors and 30 concentrations for graduate degrees. The research arm of the college is the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES).

They’re small, shy, and spreading fast. researchers are tracking the invasive Asian needle ant across Mississippi. First spotted here in 2013, they are found in shady, damp habitats—and they can sting.
