Last week, we had the privilege of giving tours of our plant to the Civil Engineering Department at MSU. In an ever-evolving industry, MMC Materials has been a long time supporter of higher education. We plan to continue putting an emphasis on educating the next generation as we seek to make strides that will benefit our industry and those who find employment in it. Concrete Pros getting it done in Hamilton, MS!

Things are under way at the new Amazon facility in Starkville, MS!

Earlier this week, we had the privilege of sitting down with the City of Starkville, MS and ABC Polymer Industries to have lunch and discuss the benefits of utilizing FullForce Fibers in various different concrete applications. We thank the City for the opportunity to meet with them and elaborate on one of the many different ways we can add value to their operations as they look to continuously improve and build our communities, and we thank ABC Polymers for their time and efforts in educating us. Awesome things are happening in the great City of Starkville!

A big thank you to all who supported us in 2023. We are blessed with great customers and employees who work hard to keep us up and running and we look forward to another great year in 2024. Happy new year from MMC!

We are set up today at the FORGE event at EMCC Communiversity! This is an event that exposes young students and their counselors to the careers that don’t require a 4 year bachelors degree. It’s a beautiful day!

Who Is MMC?

Meet Elvis! This is Elvis Englehardt. He is a Dump Truck driver, but that’s not all! He is also a driver trainer, loader operator, all-around-fix-it-man! I don’t think there’s anything he can’t do! He will even curl his lip and shake a leg if you ask him to! 😂

Elvis has been with MMC over a year now, but was with Oxford Sand for 22.5 years before that. He says the thing he loves most about his job is his customers. He loves getting to interact with all kinds of people, and honking the big horn for the kids! He loves to see their smiles!

Elvis is married to his beautiful wife Tammy, of 30 years, and has 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild that he is so proud of!

In his personal time, Elvis loves game nights with friends and taking lots of good quality naps! 😴

His words of advice are “make every moment count.” We couldn’t agree more!! Thanks Elvis for your dedication and pride in your work! We are so proud to have you on OUR team!!

Who is MMC?

We want you to meet Tanzi Sturghill. She is a dump truck driver, driver trainer for dump trucks and for mixer trucks, and a back-up plant operator for our Oxford Sand Pit! Whew! She does an awful lot! Tanzi has been with us since January, but was with Oxford Sand for 4 years before that, so this is nothing new to her!

Tanzi said her favorite part of her job is the people she meets and the jobsites she gets to deliver to. When she arrives at someone’s home and the children are excited to see a big truck (and a GIRL driving too?!), it makes her day! As you can see from Truck-a-palooza, Tanzi loves to show kids how fun big trucks can be!

Tanzi has a beautiful family of her own. She is a married mom. Her son loves dump trucks and her wife loves that she is happy with her job. Makes for a happier mom!!

In her own time, Tanzi loves spending time with her family, movie dates with the fam and BBQ cookouts.

Tanzi wants you to know that MMC is like one big family. “MMC on 3…1…2…3…MMC!”

We love Tanzi and you will too! If you happen to be lucky enough to have her bring you a load of sand or gravel, tell her hello and that you saw her on the Facebook!! We are proud to call her our own!

This might look like morning to you. These guys have been hauling mud since 8 pm last night! Night crew is done now and another crew is about to begin the day today. Summer time isn’t for the weak! This is a crazy life! But we are so very proud of our MMC family. These guys poured a total of 516 yards in the last 24 hours and another job starting at 2 pm. We couldn’t do it without everyone doing their part. We want to thank all the GTR Mixer Truck Operators for their hard work and professionalism. Our management for scheduling things like a Tetris game. Plant managers Tim Hamilton, Jason Rogers, John Bartlett for coming together and working these long hours. Our maintenance crew Jeff Wilson, Jake Bishop and Gerald Grose for being there to keep things rolling. Our QC crew Chris Burks, Matt Brown, and Lucas Odle for making sure every load went out within specs. A week like this happens because everyone comes together and does their part. Our people is where you’ll find our value. Yes, we have a quality product, but without these people, it wouldn’t be the same!! If you see those red and yellow trucks, give them a wave. They work so hard and we are so proud of them!
