Hello Runners! You can probably tell by the title of this email, but the 2021 Hannah Pote Run for Education will look a little different this year, yet again. We went into this year hoping and planning for the best, but as we have all learned, there are many things in our current society that we cannot control, and our best option is to do the right thing to help others, whether that be in our family, in our work spaces, in our schools or our broader community. This week, our school district took a brave step in postponing/canceling a number of events. Though The Starkville Foundation for Public Education is not part of the school district, we are very connected, and it makes sense for us to align with their message. Therefore, we've made the difficult decision to move our beloved Run to a virtual format for the 2nd year in a row.
The good news? Instead of having just one day to race, you'll get a whole week! Instead of running on a course in just one location, you can run ANYWHERE YOU CHOOSE! Will you still get that t-shirt you were so looking forward to wearing, why yes you will! Will you still get those beautiful shiny medals to mark your triumphant victory?? YES AGAIN!!!!
Here are the details:
Run info:
Run anywhere at anytime between Saturday, August 21-Sunday, August 29 2021 and post your results to our event page. Once you have completed your run, go to our event page. There will be a "post results here" button. Have your confirmation number and last name ready to post. You will also be able to check the leaderboard throughout the entire week!
T-shirts, Medals, and Awards will be available for pick up at the Greensboro Center sometime in September. Be on the lookout for an email for the exact date!
Thank YOU!!!
