Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. As an artist (especially if you’re a successful and visible artist), refraining from all social media is basically yeilding the ability to shake your public narrative. Curious what you all think…

Man! What a legendary week with a legendary crew - special shout out to our crazy roster (where else can , , , , , , , , , , , and more be found under one roof!!??)

… And of course an additional shout out to and for their Dance Dance Revolution Skills, co-founder Ken Irwin for his basketball chops, and for putting up with a ridiculously awkward chair so that could tell him his human design profile…

It’s like indie music summer camp in the best way possible. Not at all biased, but if you’re a label, I suggest you give a try :)

Some weeks in the “biz” are more musical than others. Getting to watch do his thing at and captivate the crowd after launching his own label was something special (as the man in slide 4 can attest to).

Congrats to Ric Whitney and for all their hard work pulling the phenomenal new album together as well!

A few days ago (date redacted) we celebrated Henry’s FIRST birthday! It’s hard to believe how fast time flies but equally hard to believe that he wasn’t always a part of our lives. Here are some select snaps of the folks who made the trek to Jersey to celebrate the little guy :)

(He was there, btw - we’re just not posting photos of him)

An absolutely stellar performance by the all time of the bass, Mr. , at . His big band brought the heat, and was joined by and to great effect. was an excellent MC as well!

This is an appreciation post for the best life-partner a guy could ask for. I can’t believe we’ve been married for 5 YEARS!

It’s flown by and yet we’ve both grown and accomplished so much together. As we reach the end of our first year of parenthood together, I still pinch myself some days that I get to be your husband…. Love you forever !

Releasing new music is always a chance to build upon and revisit the past. I originally recorded “Respite (Despite)” remotely during the height of the pandemic, and was then lucky enough to reunite with that rhythm section in the studio for “How to Rebuild.” Now I get to explore the song live (the farthest there is from “remote”) with another stellar rhythm section and find nuances in the material that I didn’t even know was there.

One thing that made my show at Drom extra special was that my family made the trek to see it. As a result, I felt that it was a safe space to share some new material - like this one. Look out for it on a future album!

I first wrote Impalcatura in 2010, when I was in the thick of my second cancer treatment. Revisiting it with strings during the “How to Rebuild” rollout was in many ways a full circle moment. Add to that the fact that “Impalcatura” means scaffolding, and is a reference to the unfinished spaceship in Fellini’s 8 ½, and you’ll find that I’ve been preoccupied with building and rebuilding for much longer than I often realize!

Following up on my last post - here’s another instance where the room helps to shape the performance into something unique. I don’t know if it was the elaborate chandelier on the ceiling or the the fact that I had so many friendly faces in the audience - but that night, I decided to take the long route through “Paris 1919.” And I’m glad I did - it ended up being one of the set highlights!
