π¨ When it comes to first aid kits, size mattersοΏΌβ
The size of the first aid kit you need will depend upon the number of people working in a facility and the types of injuries that are expected to arise.
Take a look at your past incident reports to help see the types of injuries that happen at your worksite. π§
Having a kit that is too small or with limited inventory may mean you do not have the necessary supplies to treat an employee's injury or illness.π
A first aid kit that is too large or contains inventory that you never use may mean that supplies expire before they are used, thus wasting money. π° π
For example, an office that has a few employees may only need a small type #16 unit or #24 unit first aid kit to treat minor injuries such as headaches, nausea, paper cuts and scrapes.
Large commercial kitchens or manufacturing facilities will require larger, more specialized first aid kits that have supplies to treat more serious injuries such as burns, cuts from blades, and mild to moderate aches and pains.
Take a look at your kit to see what supplies you have been using and also the condition of the kit. π§°

What class of first aid kit do you have,
Class A or Class B? β
Class A kits are designed to deal with the most common types of workplace injuries.
Class B kits are designed with a broader range and quantity of supplies to deal with injures in more complex or high-risk environments.
