East St. Louis Social Media Figure Nikajha “Thee Alchemist” Johnson Killed in Shooting
The East St. Louis community is mourning the loss of 25-year-old Nikajha Johnson, known online as “Nikajha Thee Alchemist,” who was fatally shot on June 3, 2026, in a tragic incident that authorities are investigating as a homicide.
According to reports, the shooting began in the 2400 block of Ridge Avenue in East St. Louis. After being struck by gunfire, Johnson reportedly lost control of her vehicle and continued driving before crashing into a concrete pillar near 25th Street and Cleveland Avenue. The crash brought a violent and heartbreaking chain of events to an end.
Johnson had built a following on social media through her tarot card readings, spiritual content, and online personality. Friends and followers have since flooded social media with messages of grief and remembrance. She is also reported to have left behind two children.
Adding an especially chilling and emotional layer to the story is a social media post Johnson made just days before her death. During a live video, she wrote:
“Ok damn this my last time catch me while you can 🤣🤣🤣😱🔮”
While there is currently no indication that the post was intended as a prediction or warning, many followers have pointed to the statement in disbelief following the tragic events that unfolded. What may have seemed like a casual comment at the time has now taken on a heartbreaking significance for those who knew and followed her.
Authorities have confirmed that a female suspect is currently in custody. However, formal charges had not been announced at the time of this writing. The East St. Louis Police Department, along with the Illinois State Police, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
As the investigation remains active, family members, friends, and community supporters are left searching for answers while remembering a young woman whose life ended far too soon.
A Community Reflects
The death of Nikajha Johnson serves as another painful reminder of how quickly lives can be changed by violence. Beyond the headlines and police reports are two children, a grieving family, and a community forced to process another devastating loss.
Go Getta Magazine extends its condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Nikajha Johnson during this difficult time.
Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact East St. Louis Police or Illinois State Police investigators.

The deeper Americans look into this $1.7 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” the more questions people should be asking.
Let’s be clear about what makes this situation so controversial:
This money reportedly stems from a settlement connected to Donald Trump’s legal battle against the IRS and the federal government over the handling and disclosure of his tax information. In other words, taxpayer-connected government money tied to a dispute involving Trump’s personal tax records is now being discussed as a fund that could potentially benefit individuals connected to political prosecutions , including some linked to January 6th cases.
That alone should raise alarms across the political spectrum.
Since when does a president , current or former , gain the ability to influence how massive settlement funds tied to their own legal disputes are distributed politically?
And why does it appear that high-ranking government officials are now positioned to oversee or influence this process in ways that blur the line between public duty and political loyalty?
Americans were told government institutions were supposed to remain independent. Yet critics are now questioning whether federal power is being redirected to reward political allies under the language of “anti-weaponization.”
If true, that sets a dangerous precedent.
Meanwhile, Black and Brown communities have spent generations fighting ACTUAL systemic weaponization:
• COINTELPRO targeting Black leaders
• discriminatory policing
• racial profiling
• wrongful convictions
• surveillance of activists
• over-sentencing
• economic redlining
• immigration crackdowns targeting Latino communities
But when those communities demanded reparative investment, accountability, or justice reform, America suddenly became “fiscally responsible.”
Now somehow there’s $1.7 billion available tied to political grievance claims?
The contradiction is impossible to ignore.
And perhaps the biggest question of all is this:
If government money connected to a president’s own legal battle can later become a politically controlled compensation fund, what safeguards are truly left between public institutions and personal political influence?
Because to many Americans watching this unfold, this doesn’t look like justice.
It looks like power protecting itself.

UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY: REDEFINING 5/4 DAY IN WALNUT PARK
For years, May 4th , better known as “5/4 Day” , has carried a reputation tied to block pride, street identity, and at times, division. But in 2026, that story is being rewritten.
This year, the 5400 block is no longer just a symbol of territory , it’s becoming a symbol of transformation.
Welcome to “Unity In The Community Day” at Unity Park.
Led by community leaders like Piereun and Mike Smith, alongside the nonprofit Helping Hands 2 Help Others, this movement is about shifting energy, restoring pride, and showing the true heart of the neighborhood.
This isn’t about erasing where we come from , it’s about elevating it.
For too long, communities like Walnut Park have been defined by negative narratives. But those who live here know a deeper truth: this is a village built on love, resilience, and shared struggle. And now, that truth is stepping into the spotlight.
Unity In The Community Day represents a new chapter , one where families, organizations, and neighbors come together not just to represent a block, but to represent growth.
The mission is simple but powerful:
* Bring the community together
* Bridge gaps between neighborhoods
* Show the youth a new direction
* Replace division with unity
This year’s event is also reaching beyond the 5400 block , extending invitations to surrounding neighborhoods to build connections instead of conflict.
Because real power isn’t in separation…
It’s in solidarity.
And for the youth watching?
This is bigger than a day.
This is an example.
An example that says:
You don’t have to inherit the past, you can build the future.
With music, unity, and community-driven purpose, May 4th is no longer just a date.
It’s a statement.
The narrative has changed. And this time , it’s here to stay.

“More Than a Name: The Legacy of Ronald Milton”
The city of St. Louis is mourning a heavy loss.
Ronald Milton, 41, a respected entrepreneur, dedicated father, and familiar face in the community, was tragically taken in Ferguson, leaving behind not just a business, but a legacy rooted in hard work, consistency, and love.
Known by many as the man behind Backyard BBQ on Halls Ferry, Ronald wasn’t just serving food—he was serving people. Day in and day out, he showed up for his community, building something real from the ground up. His presence became a staple, his work ethic undeniable, and his character unforgettable.
Those who knew him speak of more than his hustle. They speak of a man who stood tall for his family, who remained consistent in his grind, and who carried himself with purpose. In a world where many fold under pressure, he stayed committed, to his craft, his children, and his vision.
What makes this loss even heavier is the timing. With his 42nd birthday just weeks away, this moment reminds us how fragile life truly is—and how important it is to recognize the greatness among us while we can.
This is bigger than headlines.
This is about family.
This is about community.
This is about legacy.
At Go Getta Magazine, we don’t just highlight success, we honor the people who embody it. Ronald Milton was one of those individuals. A man who built his own lane and stood firm in it.
His impact will live on through the lives he touched, the business he built, and the love he gave.
Rest in power, Ronald Milton. Your name, your work, and your legacy will not be forgotten.
Our Deepest Condolences To The Family 🙏🏽

Jimmy “Whyte Folks” McMahan — A Memphis Legend, Welcomed by the Walnut Park Neighborhood
Some people don’t just visit a city , they leave fingerprints on the culture.
Jimmy McMahan, known and loved as Whyte Folks, was first and always a Memphis native. A hometown legend. A personality deeply loved and respected in Memphis for his authenticity, humor, and unmistakable presence. Memphis raised him. Memphis claimed him. And Memphis returned that love in full.
By way of that legacy, St. Louis didn’t replace Memphis — it embraced him.
That embrace came through the 54 Neighborhood of Walnut Park, where Whyte Folks was welcomed not as a visitor, not as a novelty, but as family.
An important truth must be stated plainly: Whyte Folks was a white man who understood Black culture , and was respected by it. That respect was not automatic, and it was never assumed. It was earned.
In an era where culture is often borrowed, mimicked, or exploited, Jimmy moved with humility. He listened. He observed. He respected the space. He never tried to be something he wasn’t, and he never tried to redefine the culture for his own benefit. He honored it. And because of that, the culture honored him back.
That understanding is what allowed the 54 to open its arms.
Within Walnut Park, especially on 54, his presence became personal. He moved with the neighborhood. He laughed with the block. His energy felt natural, not forced. His name became familiar. His face became family. And his place in the neighborhood became permanent.
A major part of his continued visibility and connection in St. Louis came from the brothers who galvanized around him and stood beside him — especially JDuce, Twan Marley, and others who made sure to include him in music videos, creative projects, and everyday moments that kept him connected to the heartbeat of the streets. That unity wasn’t performance. That was love. That was protection. That was respect.
The image we honor him with today reflects how he is remembered now , elevated, at peace, surrounded by light.
This loss is heavy.
Memphis lost a legend.
The 54 Neighborhood lost one of its own.
The culture lost someone who crossed lines the right way , with understanding, respect, and sincerity.
At Go Getta Magazine, it is an honor to tell this story ,rooted in truth, culture, and integrity.
We extend our deepest condolences to the McMahan family, to Memphis, to the 54 Neighborhood of Walnut Park, and to the culture at large.
Fly high, Whyte Folks.
Your legacy lives in Memphis.
Your respect lives in the culture.
Your love lives in the 54.
That’s on Larry. 🕊️
