Every time I update my website, I love it even more. My portfolio website houses an archive of my best paintings in every series, my artist statements, grant-funded project stories, and a new front page feature with all my upcoming events ( Art Fair is next week)! I've added two new series: "Shared Spaces - Great Rivers Greenway Series" and "Behind the Scenes Series."

Last month, I was asked to create a special portrait for the project. This is such a powerful, heartbreaking project, as is Mielle's story:
Mielle was an outspoken advocate for gun violence prevention as exemplified in advocacy work with Survivor Smiles, Students Demand Action and her Speech at the 10th Annual Sandy Hook Vigil with President Biden, Leader Pelosi and many members of the Congress and Senate present. She told the entire world that it is time to start “ADULTING” and end gun violence. Mielle was bold, brilliant, bright and beautiful. She was shot at a birthday party July 26, 2025 and declared dead on July 31, 2025. K. Mielle was 17.
Please continue to advocate for gun reform and an end to gun violence.

"Because of the River" painted from the Chain of Rocks Bridge looking down to the wetlands along the Illinois side of the Mississippi. This area was teeming with wildlife: I lost count of the ducks, geese, and turtles.
Last week, I led the first of two art sessions for my Greenway project. This time, we were at Cliff Cave Park, next time we'll be at Chain of Rocks. I'm so thankful for the awe-inspiring nature areas we have and for the ripple effects it creates for inspiration, connection, and opportunities!
