What does recovery after surgery really look like?
Healing is a step-by-step process, and each phase matters. From the first 24–48 hours of post-op care to weeks of rest and a gradual return to activity, giving your pet the time and support they need helps prevent setbacks and ensures the best outcome.
Even when they start to feel better, it’s important to stick to your veterinarian’s recommendations. Recovery isn’t rushed—and that’s a good thing.
We’re here to guide you and work alongside your family veterinarian every step of the way. 🐾💙

Is your pet ready for an emergency?
Having a plan in place can make all the difference when the unexpected happens. From knowing your evacuation routes to keeping your pet’s ID up to date, small steps now can help keep your pet safe later.
Creating a pet emergency kit and staying calm during stressful situations helps support a smoother outcome for both you and your pet. Our team is here to help you feel prepared every step of the way. 🐾💙
How Can You Prepare Your Pet for Surgery and Lower Stress?
A little preparation can go a long way in helping your pet feel more comfortable before and after surgery. One of the best things you can do is set up a calm, confined space at home where they can safely rest during recovery. Depending on the procedure, this rest period may last several weeks to a few months.
It’s also helpful to get your pet comfortable with leash walking ahead of time, especially if their activity will be limited after surgery.
Taking these small steps before surgery can make the transition home smoother and less stressful for both you and your pet. Our team works closely with your family veterinarian to guide you every step of the way. 🐾💙
