Missouri’s latest action on Medicaid integrity is an important development for our industry, for providers, and for the consumers who depend on these programs every day.
Governor Mike Kehoe announced that Missouri has notified CMS of its intent to launch an accelerated, off-cycle revalidation of high-risk Medicaid providers. The goal is clear, protect taxpayer dollars, strengthen oversight, and help ensure resources remain available for seniors, children, and people with disabilities who rely on Medicaid.
For benefits and insurance professionals, this is a reminder that program integrity matters. Honest providers and trusted advisors play an essential role in protecting access, accountability, and public confidence in the system.
We will continue following this closely as implementation begins through the MO HealthNet Division.

ICYMI: NABIP Statement on AI in Medicare
Last week, NABIP responded to CMS' vision to expand “agentic AI” tools for Medicare beneficiaries, emphasizing that while innovation can improve access and efficiency, it cannot replace licensed insurance agents. While AI can assist with reminders, basic questions, and navigation, Medicare decisions carry a heavy emotional and financial burden—they are personal, high-stakes, and often irreversible for a full plan year. Licensed agents, who are regulated and overseen by state authorities, provide judgment, accountability, and advocacy that technology alone cannot deliver.

Advocating for You: NABIP’s Response to the 2027 ACA Rule
As CMS considers changes to the 2027 ACA Marketplace rule, NABIP is advocating for a balanced approach that protects both consumers and the professionals who serve them.
Our focus:
Reduce unnecessary burdens on agents and brokers
Strengthen Marketplace stability
Combat fraud through better system safeguards, not extra paperwork
Protect client access through strong consumer protections, subsidy administration, and thoughtful plan design
Your voice and your work matter in this process, and NABIP is working to ensure they are represented.
