Today we celebrated Earth Day. We read a book about the Earth and looked at some pictures. During work time we scooped blue water and painted on blue paper with green paint. We finished up by going outside early and going on a zoo animal scavenger hunt.
The Dragonflies have some new friends visiting the classroom, a family of caterpillars. We will be observing our new friends every day as they grow and change and eventually turn into butterflies. Be sure to ask your Dragonfly about our new caterpillars!
Our caterpillars have climbed to the top of the container. Where hey will form a chrysalis and and begin the process of metamorphosis as they change into beautiful butterflies.
My how they have grown!
Silly sock day!!

My name is Tracy Austin (Mrs. Tracy). I have been teaching at LECE since 1996 and have been the Dragonfly Room teacher since 2005. I have my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Early Care and Education and I am also certified in Project Construct curriculum.

Additionally, I am CPR certified and also trained to use the Dial 3 developmental screening tool. Teaching is such a rewarding experience. Hello 2022-2023!
We are so excited to start the new school year. Please know that LECE classrooms, including our Dragonfly Room, will be using the SeeSaw app this year to connect with families and share classroom happenings rather than our class page, so please be sure to download that app and register. I will send you an invite for SeeSaw in the coming weeks!
If you are wanting to receive information through Facebook, please be sure to like the LECE page: Lindbergh Early Childhood Education . On that page, you will learn about school-wide events!
It's going to be a FANTASTIC year!!!

Yesterday we had a visit from Officer Holtzmann. He is a resource officer for the Lindbergh School District. He talked to us about how to be safe. He even showed us his police car and turned on the lights.

Congratulations, Mrs. Melisa!

Happy Birthday, America!
Thanks to all of those who were able to make it to our 4th of July Parade yesterday! It was so much fun!
We hope all of our families have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Please join us in congratulating the LECE Elephant Room's Melisa Gjata! Melisa and her husband became United States citizens last week! All of the classes at the ECE Center were able to surprise Melisa and her husband with flags and signs to celebrate their accomplishment. Congratulations, Melisa!
