Lawrence Group's Angie Eslinger, Tony Bruno, and Alicia Buehrle recently returned from the LeadingAge Missouri's Annual Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks, connecting with industry leaders and engaging in conversations around the future of senior living communities.

In the new behavioral health inpatient unit for SSM Health - St. Louis, thoughtful design plays an important role in supporting the healing process.

Interior Design Principal, Becky Egan, noted, “The goal was to provide a calming environment that promotes healing while maintaining safety for both patients and staff.”

Behavioral health environments have historically leaned heavily clinical, often prioritizing function over comfort. This project challenged that approach by designing spaces that feel warm, grounded, and restorative while still meeting rigorous safety standards.

Design can’t solve every challenge in healthcare, but it can create environments that foster dignity and comfort throughout the healing journey.

At the base of the iconic Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, Café Sebastian was designed as a layered hospitality experience that feels both refined and approachable.

In partnership with KKD Design, Lawrence Group designed this restaurant for the James Beard-recognized Chef Bradley Kilgore. The space brings together the energy of an open kitchen with the warmth of a garden-inspired loggia environment.

Earthy materials, eclectic furnishings, and industrial warehouse influences work together to create a setting that feels textured, inviting, and distinctly rooted in its urban context.

Occupying the ground floor of the Transamerica 3 building and extending onto historic Mark Twain Alley and Sansome Street, the design emphasizes connection between indoors and outdoors.

As we wrap up World Landscape Architecture Month, Lawrence Group is celebrating how thoughtful landscape design shapes the way people experience, move through, and enjoy outdoor spaces.

At the Maritz campus in Fenton, MO, the 1385 Plaza turns a simple connection between buildings into an inviting place to take a break, enjoy nature, host events, or recharge.

Thoughtful design, careful wayfinding, and native plantings also allow the plaza to manage stormwater effectively, showing how every detail can balance purpose, productivity, and sustainability.
