This week, we celebrate a beautiful moment in the lives of several of our students as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at St. Peter Catholic Church this Sunday 🕊️
Throughout the year, each has followed a unique path, growing in faith, asking questions, and opening her heart more fully to Christ.
In the days ahead, we’ll share glimpses of their journeys. We invite you to keep them in your prayers as they prepare for this special day 💚
Easter reminds us that God is never absent 🕊️
He is present in every moment, every space, every heart at Nerinx 💚
Rejoice, He is risen!

As we reflect on Holy Saturday, read a reflection from our Principal, Dr. Grumich, below 🩷
“The Resurrection account in the Gospel of Matthew (28:1–10) begins in a place that feels familiar to all of us: uncertainty. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary go to the tomb at dawn, carrying grief, confusion, and unanswered questions. They are not expecting hope. And yet, everything changes. The stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and into that moment comes a message that echoes across time: “Do not be afraid.”
This message is not given once, but twice; first by the angel and then by Jesus himself. It suggests that fear is not something easily dismissed or quickly overcome. Instead, it is something we all carry. The command “do not be afraid” does not mean that fear disappears. Rather, it invites us not to let fear control our choices. It calls us to move forward even when we are unsure, to trust even when we do not yet understand.
Ultimately, the Resurrection story reveals that hope does not come after life is neatly resolved. It breaks into the middle of confusion and fear. The empty tomb is not just a symbol of life after death; it is a sign that new beginnings are possible even when we cannot yet see how. The message “do not be afraid” is not a call to eliminate fear, but an invitation to live with courage in its presence.
In a world that often feels unpredictable, this Gospel offers a steady and reassuring truth: we are not alone in our uncertainty. Like the women at the tomb, we are invited to move forward even if we are fearful, perhaps, but also open to joy. And in that willingness to take the next step, we may discover that hope has already been waiting for us.”
On this Good Friday, we pause and reflect on the moments that make faith personal 💚
In remembering the love and sacrifice that defines this day, we’re reminded that God is present in the stillness, in community, and in the everyday.

To wrap up our Women’s History Month alumnae spotlight series, we’re proud to feature Megan Komos ’12, whose work in engineering and digital systems is helping improve healthcare manufacturing and quality systems 🩺
After graduating from Nerinx Hall, Megan attended Iowa State University, where she earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and later an MBA. Today, she works in Healthcare Manufacturing in St. Louis as a Digital Systems Project Lead in Quality and Regulatory, overseeing the deployment and optimization of digital quality tools that support regulatory compliance and product quality across healthcare manufacturing systems.
Reflecting on her time at Nerinx Hall, Megan credits the community and mentorship that encouraged her early interest in science and engineering. “Nerinx Hall nurtured my curiosity and love for science,” she shares. “Being in a community that empowers young women taught me to take risks, trust my voice, and embrace leadership.”
Throughout her career, Megan has remained focused on using engineering to improve healthcare. She began working in a manufacturing plant after college, solving production challenges and ensuring product quality. Over time, she advanced into a corporate leadership role where she now helps optimize processes and quality systems across multiple manufacturing sites.
Her advice to current students is to stay curious. “Ask, ‘How does this work?’ ‘What if we changed it?’ and ‘How can we design it better?’” she says. “STEM isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having the courage to keep asking the questions.”
Megan’s journey is one of many examples of Nerinx alumnae leading, innovating, and making an impact across industries 💚
