I am excited to begin a new chapter and be able to continue serving and advocating for children. I have loved serving the citizens of District 114, and I can’t thank you enough for the honor of being your State Representative the past 7 years.
This community will always be home to me no matter where I’m at.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
I am extremely honored to be appointed by Governor Parson and Supreme Court Chief Justice Wilson as the Child Advocate for the State of Missouri. After much prayerful consideration by both my husband and I, I accepted this appointment and officially resigned as District 114 State Representative effective at 11:59 PM on November 30, 2021. While I will no longer be the State Representative for District 114, I will continue to serve Missouri in this capacity advocating for children. I look forward to working with and leading the team at the Office of Child Advocate to ensure the welfare of our children will remain a top priority.
I have always had a passion to serve and help children. I spent 25 years in the classroom as an educator and have worked on many issues to improve the lives and welfare of children in our state as a State Representative. I have served on the House Children and Families Committee, Health and Mental Health Policy Committee, Appropriations for Health, Mental Health, and Social Services Committee, and Elementary and Secondary Education Committee.
This past 7 years has been an incredible journey, and I would like to thank the citizens of District 114 for allowing me to serve them. During my time in the legislature, I have worked hard to pass approximately 27 pieces of legislation into law including expanding newborn screening to save the lives of countless children in Missouri, transportation issues to help maintain and repair our roads, bridges, and ports, PTSD awareness, the Rare Disease Advisory Council, First Time Homebuyers’ Savings Account, and many others to help cut red tape and make it easier for our small businesses to thrive and grow.
The office of House District 114 will remain open, and the contact information will remain the same. The Legislative Assistant will still be available to help with any constituent issues.
Sincerely,
Becky Ruth

Scouting for Food collection is this Saturday, November 20th!
Watch out for scouts and their families on the roads as they collect your donations.
Be sure to put your canned goods out by 10 AM and in a spot easily seen from the street. Thank you for helping to fight food insecurity in our region!

Solution to America’s supply chain woes could lie with the Mississippi River There’s a new plan to send shipping containers from the Panama Canal, through the Gulf of Mexico, and into a port in Jefferson County about 30 miles south of St. Louis.
