Yesterday, AGC of Missouri’s Young Executive Club (YEC) and Construction Leadership Council (CLC) got a tour of MoDOT’s Traffic Management Center! Thank you to MoDOT - St. Louis for hosting us for the tour and meeting along with Michelle Forneris and Brian Umfleet for presenting to the group. It was great to learn about all the MoDOT systems in place for cameras, vehicle detectors, traffic signals, emergency response team, message signals and how to handle upcoming construction/bad weather. We even got to see the live view of some of the cameras in the Transportation Management Center from all over the St. Louis Metro area!

Our group then heard from Brett Lennon with Millstone Weber about the progress and challenges so far with the I-270 North Design Build Project in North St. Louis. The project is 8.6 miles long and is going to be completed December 1st, 2023 with a total budget of $256 million. The goal of the project was to get everything along the 270 corridor updated with new lanes, bridges, pedestrian walkways, roundtables and safer ways to travel. With a few curveballs and challenges along the way the project is coming along smoothly. Most importantly, please slow down in construction zones, avoid distractions while driving and be aware of your surroundings!

We finished the busy day with a great view at the St. Louis Blues game!
