Our Shabbat series with Rabbi Emeritus Mark L. Shook is back this summer!
During the month of July, Rabbi Shook will explore the dynamics of Jewish identity at Shabbat services on Friday evenings. Starting with the early history of identity through membership in family, clan, and tribal groups for sustenance and security, he will describe the times and events that transformed how we see our Jewish identity, from one of kinship to one of shared religious values. The series concludes with discussions of conversion to Judaism and what that will mean for the Jewish future.

In honor of Memorial Day, we will remember those who died in service to our country by reciting their names. Following tonight's service, we invite you to stay for dessert and a thought-provoking learning session where Rabbi Amy will examine the story of Ruth โ a biblical heroine's timeless tale of love, loyalty, and unexpected courage. Shabbat Shalom!
