Legacy Wells

We've arrived in Asia, and in just a few days we'll be in India, dedicating four new wells and a new community church building. These wells are going into remote villages where there is no access to water. The impact of a water well is hard to put into words... it touches nearly every part of daily life. Each drop of clean water brings hope and health for these communities.

We're excited! Let's get the water flowing!

In the last 2 days we rode in a car for more then 24 hours! We dedicated 7 wells! 2 were in honor of Heather and 2 in honor of Greg. And we also dedicated a beautiful new church and parsonage! Oh my, that was sweet.
And we presented four pastors with new motorcycles.
Today I am meeting Pastor Finny Joseph, one of the senior spiritual leaders in India. He is an old friend and the president of Maranatha Ministries.
Tomorrow we host a lunch with over 50 of the children who have grown up in our Boys and Girls Home and their families.
Sunday we speak at a great church in Chingelpet with Pastor Muthu who overseas our ministry to people with Leprosy.
And that’s what we do! All included this trip cost more than $100,00.00! And that’s why we love our partners. They empower us to go and run with the light!

We are thrilled to announce that we are preparing to drill well #150 in India!

Since 2010, Global Messenger Service has drilled and dedicated 148 wells in remote Indian villages, and we are set to drill and dedicate well #149 this fall. Here are our milestones:

Well #1: 2010
Well #50: 2017
Well #100: 2020

Our impact has grown each year, and today, an estimated 750,000 people drink fresh water from our wells every day.

Now, we are looking for a donor to help us reach the milestone of well #150 in 2024. Could it be you? A donation of $4,800 will fund this special milestone well. If multiple contributors are interested, we can expand the project to include a church building and a home for a pastor's family for a total of $36,000.

Did you know a single well provides safe and clean water to approximately 1000 families? In remote villages in India, women walk a mile or two every day, sometimes twice a day, to bring water back to their house. Often, once a young girl is old enough to carry water, she has to drop out of school so she can help her mother.

This is one of the reasons we are so passionate about placing wells. Having a well in the village allows little girls to stay in school, get an education, and have a brighter future. Clean water changes lives!

I seriously cannot put it in words!!! This lady kept telling us over and over thank you for the well so that she didn’t have to walk so far every day. I cried! 😢

We are headed back to Asia in a week! While in India, we are dedicating 4 more water wells, and this beautiful church building/parsonage for a pastor and his family in a very remote tribal village. We're excited to see the finished project in person!

Across India, women and children walk for miles each day to retrieve water for their families.

We are in India now, changing that way of life for 26 communities. Over the course of the pandemic, we've installed and opened 26 wells in remote villages. Now, the women and children can walk just a few short minutes to their well, saving hours of a gruesome walk each day.

Over the next few days, we have the privilege to dedicate the wells and visit with the beautiful people in these villages.
