Both mothering and daughtering can be challenging, exciting, frustrating and loving. Trying to balance that with art making is doubly challenging. Hats off to all the mothers and daughters who made the work for "She carries you within her." Happy Mother's Day!

One of our favorite shows to date! Thanks to all the great people who came to celebrate the work of women, families and storytellers. ❤️ and created not only a wonderful show, but a community of care, exactly what we do at Red Gate.

We are thrilled to announce that is our spring artist in residence at Red Gate. He has shown work in several of our exhibitions, co-curated one of them, and performed at another. He is currently putting together class ideas for our Community Health and Wellness series and working on a collaborative performance in addition to the beautiful textile work is creating in the studio.

Make sure to stay tuned for what he is up to next! We love the energy he brings and pours into each of his projects. I was particularly grateful to be able to catch him at a moment when his mom visited the studio.

We've added more classes to our Community Health and Wellness series!

Join for a half-day mindfulness mini-retreat starting March 21.

The sessions feature a new theme each month that blends neuroscience, lived human experience, and contemplative wisdom from a variety of faith traditions. We’ll explore how the nervous system shapes our inner life and relationships, then settle into a nourishing rhythm of seated meditation, walking meditation, and silent journaling. Reflective practice can also support creativity and artistic expression and research suggests mindfulness training may offer creativity boosts.

Saturdays, 9 am-12 pm
