Some of the victims washed away were found as far as Cincinnati, Ohio.

The first all black regiment of the U.S. Civil War, the 54th Massachusetts, leaves Boston to go fight Confederates in the South May 28, 1863. These men were depicted in the 1989 film 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒚, starring Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, and Cary Elwes.
In my humble opinion, it the greatest Civil War movie out there.
