We're preparing for a busy October after a couple months of keeping to the basics. We'll have something going on *every weekend* in October, so give your input and step up to help us at our upcoming meeting on

Next Saturday, we're doing our produce share at First Presbyterian Church again for the 4th Saturday of the month. Bring your grocery bags, carts, or boxes to take home free fresh produce. We'll have bags (and a limited number of boxes) if you need them!
We'll start at 4PM and go until 6PM or until everything is gone, so come at the start for the most variety.

The community has overwhelmingly spoken and we want care not cages. We want money for human needs not cops. If SGCID is really sorry they should redirect funding away from private security and into resources for people who are unhoused.

Because the question remains : is the South Grand CID truly repentant or are they just putting out a statement as cover once they realized it was a bad look? We can ask the same of the business owners on the CID board who signed off on this letter and then claimed not to have read it. Are these purported meetings more of that same PR cover or will SGCID invest in support for those on the street?

In the Catholic tradition we come from you can receive forgiveness but you have to do penance first. You must do right to atone for your wrongs.

Saturday's meal and produce share was a lot of fun! We love getting to know everyone from every walk of life and seeing everyone come together to freely share food and other resources with each other. Thanks to people who helped us carry and clean everything and those who shared clothing, their garden surplus, canned foods, pantry goods, personal care items, and a very nice large bag of bags!

The menu was a hit, and everything was delicious 😋 Shout-out to our newest chef and the meal prep team! We indulged in Caesar salad with croutons and vegan dressing made from scratch and tomatoes grown at Motherland Community Gardens, stuffed bell peppers topped with marinara sauce, broccolini, butternut squash, potato soup, strawberry shortcakes, coffee, and a refreshing raspberry, citrus, grape, beet punch (our member who doesn't like beets even gave it a thumbs up!).

Come be a part of our little mutual aid community and shape our future free food shares (like Warm Meal Wednesday on 9/16 👀): meet with us at our potluck meeting on Monday, 9/14 at 6:30pm at Church of the Brethren, 2115 Yale Blvd. You don't need to bring anything to attend, but we kindly request that anything you bring is vegan-friendly.
