At AJSA, we always welcome the opportunity to educate and network; this time at the Church of the Latter Day Saints headquarters (LDS), Salt Lake City, UT. BILDA is an innovative exterior cladding system that is perfect for natural stone attachment onto LDS Temples built worldwide, but especially in North America!

This past week we demonstrated the BILDA system to the architects and designers who serve at the Special Projects Departmemt of the LDS, during a "Designing with Stone" conference organized by Vince Marazita of Stone Trends International.

Just look at this! Some of the best high density limestone still coming out of these local quarries that made this happen almost a millennium ago!

Every architect should remember the first time they smelled wood when sawed, held a brick and buttered a joint and rolled stone dust between their fingers. If you've done none of this, put down your pencil before you do!

You know you're getting older when you attend the Anniversary Mass for the new church building that you designed and was dedicated 20 years ago on this day, the Feast of St. James the Apostle. Small accretions have crept in, but not many, as testament to how the space has held up well. I'm happy.
