Summer officially arrives this weekend, and honestly, I don't think it could have picked a better ambassador.

๐ŸŒผ "Sunburst Bloom" ๐ŸŒผ

This cheerful blanket flower looks like a tiny fireworks display created by nature itselfโ€”fiery reds at the center, glowing oranges through the petals, and bright yellow tips reaching toward the sun.

One of my favorite things about summer is how unapologetic nature becomes. The colors get brighter. The days get longer. Everything seems a little more alive.

This bloom felt like a celebration before summer had even begun.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Quick question:

Are you the person who races to the viewpoint...

or the one who keeps stopping to admire the light coming through the trees?

I always think I'm headed somewhere specific, and then I get distracted by moments like this.

Thankfully, mountains are patient.

People sometimes feel they need to be able to explain exactly why they are drawn to a piece before they can bring it home.

But art doesn't always work that way.

You don't have to justify why "Blush Reverie" speaks to you. You don't need the perfect words or a carefully reasoned explanation.

Sometimes a piece simply creates a feeling you want to live with.

The meaning often reveals itself over time.

"Blush Reverie"

What is the first feeling this image evokes for you?

One of my favorite things about Sanibel Island isn't the sunset.

It's the treasure hunt.

Every walk along the beach becomes a slow search for color, pattern, texture, and tiny surprises left behind by the tide. Before long, your pockets are full, your pace has slowed, and you're studying shells like precious artifacts.

This collection is a small reminder of why shelling on Sanibel is so addictive.

How many different shells can you spot before you start picking favorites?

We talk a lot about finding peace somewhere far away... often while on vacation.

But sometimes peace is simply a horizon, a little color in the sky, and a few quiet minutes to notice it.

That's what drew me to create "Sanibel Skywater".

A reminder that stillness doesn't have to be complicated.

Where do you go when you need a moment of calm?

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ It's Flag Day today!

As a photographer, I've noticed that some of my favorite images aren't always about the obvious subject. Sometimes it's the small details that quietly tell a story.

Walking through Savannah, I was drawn to the historic homes, the ironwork, and the canopy of trees overhead. But looking back, I love how the flags along the street became part of the sceneโ€”a simple reminder of place, history, and community.

Flag Day isn't just about a symbol. It's also about the people, memories, and shared stories that connect us.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend as we welcome summer and celebrate the country, families, and traditions that help shape our lives.

What place in America feels most like "home" to you?

The desert has a way of making color feel almost alive.

Bryce Canyon was glowing the evening I captured this sceneโ€”layers of orange, coral, gold, and pink stretching as far as I could see.

It's one of those places that makes you stop talking for a minute and simply take it all in.

I love how landscapes can feel both ancient and immediate at the same time.

If you could spend one evening watching a sunset anywhere, would you choose:

๐ŸŒต Desert
๐ŸŒŠ Ocean
โ›ฐ๏ธ Mountains
๐ŸŒฒ Forest

I'm curious which wins.

Some views naturally draw you in.

You walk into a room and your eyes go there first.

Maybe that's why we instinctively gravitate toward certain windows, certain landscapes, and certain pieces of art.

For me, "Cave Creek Sunset" is one of those images.

Where would you put it?

๐ŸŒ… Living room
๐ŸŒ… Bedroom
๐ŸŒ… Office
๐ŸŒ… Somewhere else?

Question for today:
Are you drawn to blue?

Not just a little blue.

I'm talking can't-walk-past-it, stop-and-stare blue.

Yellowstone's geothermal springs produce some of the most incredible shades I've ever seen, and this scene felt almost unreal in person.

๐Ÿ’™ Are you Team Blue?

Tell me your favorite blue thing:
๐ŸŒŠ Ocean
๐Ÿ” Mountain lake
๐Ÿฆ‹ Butterfly
๐ŸŒŒ Night sky
๐Ÿ’Ž Something else

(I'm probably torn between the ocean and alpine lakes.)

Some places leave an impression that lasts long after the trip is over.

For me, Engineer Mountain is one of those places.

Rising above the forests of southwest Colorado, it feels both powerful and peacefulโ€”a reminder of the beauty that waits when we take the time to explore.
