A Moment That Still Means So Much 🤍

These photos were taken about 3–4 years ago, but the impact of this day still speaks to the heart of our mission.

Our college mentors Skylar, Yoti, and Umutoni spent time at Westport Elementary connecting with young girls in the community. These ladies were always willing to represent AGLMN. During this visit, several girls came in to learn how to braid, practice on wigs, ask questions, and receive hair care products.

What may seem like a simple activity was actually something much deeper. It was a space where young girls could learn, feel seen, and gain confidence while being surrounded by mentors who looked like them and cared about their growth.

At the same time, our college mentors gained meaningful community experience—learning how mentorship, culture, and service can shape the next generation.

Our organization has been on pause for a while, but moments like this remind us exactly why this work matters so much.

We cannot wait to get back to creating these spaces again for our girls and our community.

Announcement from Our Organization Founder:

It has been a long time coming, but as many of you know, our organization has been on hold for over a year due to various circumstances. At this time, we will be donating items that have been graciously contributed to us over the years.

While our mission remains strong, we recognize that a full reboot—especially focused on our youth programs—is necessary before we move forward. We deeply appreciate all of the funding, support, and wonderful memories shared with us along the way.

This organization has always been more than a project—it was my childhood dream. Growing up without many real role models to look up to, I promised myself that one day I would become the person I needed when I was younger. Having the opportunity to pour into hundreds of girls and families over the years has truly been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Our organization remains trademarked, and we fully intend to relaunch in the near future with renewed purpose and strength.

For donation inquiries, please send us a message directly. We will be closing our storage facility no later than October 31, 2025.

This has been a bittersweet and deeply emotional decision—one I’ve delayed sharing for quite some time. God placed this vision on my heart, and I was blessed to bring it to life. For now, I am taking time to focus on my children and family, trusting that this is only a pause—not an ending.

To all of my youth: Be brave, be good, stay focused, and always remember anything Ms. Amby has ever taught you. You are capable, worthy, and destined for greatness.

She is working full time and solely supports her children at the moment. She is not in low income housing. She does receive foodstamps and medicade for the children. She has 3 years clean and sober and all of her children living with her. This has been has a long hard road for their family and she continues to move forward daily!🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

These girls work hard with their academics, and get out on the court delivering their best!
